Two San Diego State University professors contributed a chapter to a new anthology arguing that farmers' markets are "insidious" "white spaces where the food consumption habits of white people are normalized."

While farmers' markets are often established as a way of fighting "food deserts" in low-income areas, the professors complain that 44 percent of San Diego farmers' markets are located in census tracts with high levels of gentrification

Who is outraged? I just laugh at how stupid people are.

I know this board eats these stories up!

"Food deserts are killing us!"

"Ok, here are some farmers markets that provide healthy options in your neighborhood"

"Facilities providing relief in food deserts are killing us!"

Where's our liberals who keep saying there's no war on white people?

Here they are calling us insidious. This from academia. This is how you start policy, by subverting institutions that mold young minds and their ideology.

You can't be serious. Why can't white people just do what they enjoy in peace? Blacks, Indians, Mexicans, etc are allowed at farmers markets too.

gentrification

I hate how people use this word. I can’t afford my parents neighborhood even though my mom bought around the same age i am not. Should I go protest the mayor because property values exploded in the 40 years since my mom purchased the property?

Dude, you can't be serious. Are you really that insensitive? It's because...

Near north side, and the 3rd ward gentrification has triggered some solid /r/Houston meltdowns.

Farming is racist. It's like welfare for white people. They get free food out of the ground while other races are forced to use their Louisiana purchase card to get food

Yes you should. You are the victim. Remember, you're always a victim
