The 2 disasters really shouldn't be compared. This thread will turn into a pissing match before long though

Was that the goal? That's what will happen.

Besides it being a stupid question because the answer is obvious, what's the point of the question?

Not even counting NO with the man made breach, JP had 30,000+ flooded homes.

To compare number of families having to rebuild due to flood

Riddle me this, do you suck in bed as much as you do on this board?

Riddle me this: why start a thread that will turn into New Orleans/Baton Rouge pissing match on a day like today?

This can't be it 985boy. You know good and well that Katrina flooded more homes.

Not severity but just sheer number of homes flooded from Katrina to BR flood, I'd think Katrina has an edge but hardly by much. Any thoughts or guesses?

There is zero point in trying to compare these disasters. They are so vastly different situations that the only thing comparable is that we know it sucks for lots and lots of people.

I have thoughts to offer present victims that I've held back because I thought it was too soon. I went through Katrina and felt the despair for a long, long time but there is money coming in many different forms. There will be inequities and things that can never be replaced but from devastation means rebirth and people who didn't have jobs yesterday will have jobs available tomorrow. The affected area will eventually profit from this even if it's hard to see today. I hope some solace can be had because history says that better times are ahead for anyone who stays strong and doesn't give up.
