Not severity but just sheer number of homes flooded from Katrina to BR flood, I'd think Katrina has an edge but hardly by much. Any thoughts or guesses?

Katrina and it's not close... Think about all the Mississippi homes that were flooded too.

No way no how

Katrina was a much smaller area

And oh, the avg value of the 2016 house flood is 20 times the value of the 7th ward houses

Two seconds on Google:

quote:

Besides the death toll, hurricane Katrina left many people homeless as more than 800,000 housing units were destroyed or damaged in the storm.

Probably three times as many with Katrina.

Nah, that's why I don't want severity as part of equation. Katrina had cities under 10 ft of water for weeks. This is just about sheer number of flood homes. I mean 4 " of water does nearly same as 3 ft

Quit calling it the "BR flood". Towns all across southern Louisiana were flooded.

Hmm, let's see. St. Bernard and Plaquemines Parish were destroyed. In Orleans, Broadmoor, Mid City, Lakeview and Gentilly neighborhoods, along with everything east of the Industrial Canal were significantly flooded. Throw in what was flooded in Jefferson.

134,000 houses were flooded in the New Orleans area during Katrina.
