I work in O&G, and anytime I go on a Shell job I do a hair test. Which thankfully isn't very often

Then you're good, but personally I'd rather lose the job than cancer.

Took a hair test earlier this year. Talked to the guy that was doing all the testing. He said they can go back very far depending on the person. Sometimes 4 to 6 months. Shaving doesn't work because they can do hair from legs, chest, arms, arm pits.

He said they are extremely hard to beat.

This is retarded.

so you are saying that if someone went on vacation to Colorado and legally had some pot brownies six months ago they should not be able to be hired?

shave your head and stay clean. apply for jobs in 90 days.

you will have a normal head of hair, and nothing in your system.

don't even go into a room where other people are smoking. 90 days.

If you lived there then, yea you can probably make the case for a failed test.

It's a really good job too and I nailed the interview. Towards the end the interviewer told me they hair test, my stomach dropped. I was also offered the job.

Don't even bother accepting the position. You'll just end up in the DISA database and will have to take another just to clear yourself.

do away with hair tests

This is dumb. Urine isn't nearly effective enough in screening for more serious drugs.

Tell them it's against your religion to have hair removed from your body. You can glady pee in a cup though.

Hair tests only go back about 90 days. A cuticle tests goes back much longer though.
