Thousands of people hand in hand with zero social distancing on interstates, parks, city streets, and town squares. Not one word against it from the head medical experts or CDC. Stadiums are no different.

Game On

I think it was pretty clear after last week that there would be fans in the stands

There is no reason to take rights away but the hypocrisy will return soon.

Yet the NBA and MLB and NHL will be going at the exact same time with no fans?

This is all so weird.

Agreed. Was reading an op-ed this morning and a paragraph jumped out at me

quote:

The protests have exposed the absurdity of the continued lockdowns. It’s either a public-health emergency and crowds must be stopped or it’s not. It cannot be both.

So true

Bunch the schedule models are much much different

And those other sports are racing to complete their respective seasons. In the nba’s case, multiple games per day at the same site? Is that correct?

There will be fans in the dome. How many is the question

If you look at Italy the virus is mostly not around anymore and they were what, 2-3 weeks ahead of us?

By the time September rolls around we should be ready for full stadium participation.

It will be all or none.

Social distancing cannot work with stadium seating. If you have to be 6' apart, this means no one 6 feet to your left, 6 feet to your right and the big issue is no one 6 feet below you or above you.

It would not be feasible to man the gates or concessions for the limited amount of people that would be allowed. Then who gets to decide which season ticket holders get to go to which games? If we social distance for the entire season, you still wouldnt be able to get every fan into even just one game.

Disagree

They’ll figure a way to allow clusters of people traveling to the game together to sit near each other. Groups of 2-4-6.

They’ll find a way to fit roughy 30k per game

Allow half of the season ticket holders 4 games, and the other half the other 4 games. No single game ticket sales

Playoffs would be done lottery style much like they do with Super bowl tickets. If there is a second playoff game, those who didn’t go to 1st have first dibs on that.

Open dome early to thin out the already smaller crowd at entrances.

Masks required.

Limit stand alone concessions. More mobile vendors.

The next 1-2 weeks are going to be very telling and dictate the next several months. Is there a case spike in these cities or not during that time? How much if so?

I think expecting fans in the stands is not unreasonable. The question is how many, because it still won’t be max capacity 70k plus.

You are asking inept mayors and governors to give up newly found powers to keep us all down and locked up tight (safety first!!).

Good luck getting them to let of their power. After all, they know what's best for us, not you.
