To answer my original question, it’s really been since Jairus Byrd that we won a major FA battle.
Wrong.
2024- Chase Young
2023 - Carr, Moreau, Willie Gay Jamal’s Williams
2022 - Mathieu
2020- Emmanuel Sanders, Malcom Jenkins
2019- Jared Cook, Latavious Murray
2018 - Demario Davis
Saints have always gone out and got big name free agents, some have been hits, some have been busts but you saying players are trying to avoid the organization is just false. This isn’t the NBA where certain players want to play in LA, Miami, Boston, NY etc. Literally 3 of the top 4 QB’s play in small markets organizations.

No.

Maybe if you have multiple personality disorder, most of you can see it.

Your posts are quite humorous though, typical Geauxldilocks:

Blah blah blah on any subject - doesn't matter what.

Conclusion: The Saints should move.

Title says is all,

would Rita Benson Leblanc have allowed the Saints to fall like this?

No

She would have fired Micky immediately

It was an inside power struggle and she lost

And so did all Saints fans

Wrong as I read things as it happened. Benson gave her a shot to run things and take over after him. She blew it big time and didn't take her opportunity seriously. So she got the boot and not by Loomis but Tom.

Now if this was all a secret plot by Loomis then you are correct.

Maybe Demario out of that list. Chase Young LOL. If he was so “coveted” why sign a 1 year prove it deal?

The rest were hardly in major pursuit, and Murray laughably left for Denver after the practice squad debacle.

you tell me. you listed Jadeveon Clowney and he signed back to back 1 year deals with the titans & browns yet you listed him as a coveted FA. And if you don’t think regular pro bowlers like Jenkins & Mathieu weren’t pursued by other teams as well as Jared cook who was coming off his best receiving year along with a pro bowl year with the raiders signing with the saints then you’re not worth arguing with anymore.

Loomis and friends had every reason
to see that she did not get control

They knew they were gone if she stayed

Instead we have what we have now

Take a tour of the front offices homes and you might understand

It’s not about SuperBowls for them

It’s about enriching themselves

And that is what they are the best in the league at

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Well said and so predictable under Gayle’s ownership. Pros and cons to Rita but the evidence is irrefutable now the Saints/Pels would be more competitive franchises.

Rita would have been a much better owner! At least she understood football whereas Gayle has no clue!

We get it, she had some youthful indiscretion that maybe bordered on bay shite crazy at the time.

Like all she would’ve matured into the role if given the chance. She certainly can read a salary cap spreadsheet and recognize how reckless her GM would’ve been and prevented the insanity.

Don't you have to get off your back to be able to fall?

I was all on board with cutting her out. She was a diva. Impossible to work with. Etc.

But she was present and had a pulse. Maybe we needed a little crazy.
What part of “impossible to work with” don’t you get?

She would have been an abject failure- it would have made our present situation look rosy in comparison.

I know two people well who attempted to interact with her while she was associated formally with the team. It was like dealing with a person from another planet according to them independently.

When Gayle took over the Saints, at the time of the NOLA no call the Saints had arguably the best roster in the NFL and was well on its way to a 2nd Lomardi.

Fast forward to today, arguably the worst roster in the NFL, the worst cap situation in the NFL and years subjecting its loyal fans to Loomis and Allen.

Nothing screams abject failure like this performance and the only conclusion is to sell the team.

Rita could not have been any worse.

We’ll never know.

Gayle’s sins are of omission, Rita’s would have been of both commission and omission.

Gayle’s personality/personal behavior is not embarrassing.

Rita’s was and would have been magnified on the big ownership stage.

You believe your opinion. I’ll believe mine.

Which again is not the end of the world if you root for the players/team and not the city.

NOLA is all things being equal a net negative on the franchise. Players and coaches want to live in beautiful vibrant communities and owners want litters of fans and corporate Fortune 500 types to pay for overpriced tickets, suites, and adult beverages.
