With the injury to Bresee one guy to watch is John Ridgeway III.

Sone guys are going to have to step up big time and without another real true 3 tech type DT like Bresee they will have to alter how they play a bit. Ridgeway always seemed to be around the ball when he was on the field and he plays with a great nonstop motor similar to Bresee. Cam Jordan could also see more time inside with guys like Tyree Wilson now adding to the depth at the ends behind Young, Granderson and Jordan.

The interior 3 depth chart might be
1- Shepherd/Godchaux/Broughton
2-Miller/Ridgeway/Myles ColeorZxavian Harris

Godchaux is the starting NT but I hope Christen Miller is a quick study. Bresee’s spot will be a bit of a mix but I really think this year Ridgeway shows that he’s a quality DT that can easily start in a pinch. I line that we went young though. So much talent, who will translate that to results will be interesting to see.

I think with bresee going down the run defense gets better, but interior pass rush gets worse. But if we are defending the run on first and second down better and leading to passing situations, then we can mix it up with Cam or Grando on the inside. Also Kaden is a very good rusher up the middle

I think Z Harris can earn PT, he has talent to help immediately

When he played we went from allowing over 100 yards rushing a game to 79, I believe

He was used late last year to help clog the middle vs the run. They liked what they saw apparently. Gonna be a scramble for Bresees minutes.

Ended up being a great trade for us 2 years ago considering the current status of Bresee.

bresee's VAR isnt that high. he is a good interior pass rusher but cannot do anything in run defense. he is a loss, but he is not as much as a loss as people are thinking

I'd feel better about him rushing the passer than Ridgeway.
Elliss can be used in multiple ways. He isn't just an off-ball LB.
Chase Young seemed like he was starting to find his way.
Point being is I'd want as many good pass rushers on the field at the same time when it counts as possible.
I know the Saints have to get better at stopping the run also but losing Bresee is a thing in my opinion.

Yeah the only upside to this is if you are one of the bench guys.

Ole miss fans think he’s gonna go back there now they had the 5th year ruling for college football. Would be crazy if true.
