won't be there. Todd McShay has him going second or third overall. This one has him going 7th. This one says 13th. This one says 6th. This one says 12th. This one says 10th.

Looks like Taylor Mays, William Moore or Andre Smith might fall to us though. I'd be happy with any one of them.

Mays could be a solid OLB one day, but i'd say that's too much of a gamble. Moore has potential to be a good, not great safety. There aren't any real no-brainers at the safety spot this year.

Mays reminds me of Roy Williams, except maybe a better hitter. I'd love to have him, but the Saints better get a ball hawking FS to go along with him.

What about Mays at SS and Usama Young at FS???

Pretty sure Usama Young has proved he is worthless.

Best draft site IMO
All free and they do year round scouting. The guy is usually very accurate. They also have good boards.
He has 3 senior safeties in his top 32 players. Add Mays and the junior from S.Carolina, and we should have a chance at a good guy whether we trade down or not.

Usama Young to safety is actually a better idea than Mike McKenzie to safety. Usama's our biggest corner and our best hitting corner.

I'm not saying that this is a great idea, I'm just saying that it sucks less than the McKenzie idea.

Young is no good at CB so I'm not against moving him to FS. I don't know how well he does there either though. I could see McKenzie going to FS, but not this year if he comes back 100% from the injuries. Maybe in two years.

That would be the best pick probably, but unless the Saints want to trade up, I doubt he's there at 14

i thought we had the 13th pick. (i assumed we'd be drafting 13th because redskins were 8-8 as well and they beat us.) but obviously there's too many tie breaker things to know..

ether way curry will be a top 10 pick..

we have a tremendous shot to draft one of the only 2 studs at FS in Mays/Moore.. kind of like the DT tackle situation last year how after Ellis/Dorsey there is a huge drop off...

Looking at it REALISTICALLY as to players that will probably be available...

1.S Myron Rolle, a SS but very smart, would be a great compliment because of his intelligence to our D. With Ellis, Porter and Vilma, you have a solid young core right there.

2. Vontae Davis, a true corner in every word, attitude may be a ? mark. However no denying his ability, best man to man corner in the draft.

3. Michael Oher, a true Pass blocker who can match up with any D lineman in strength, and has tremendous quickness to stop the speed rushers.

4.Alphonso Smith, Corner from Wake Forest. Forget about the other guy from Wake ( Aaron Curray, top 10 pick) but this guy can play too. Has that swagger you need as a corner. Great speed. Fluid hips. Could come in and be an impact player. Also stars as a return man as well. Downfall his height, however there are not many big physical WR's in the South (Bryant and White)

5. Clint Stintm, OLB UVA. Great size and speed. Perfect OLB prospect IMO. Will be a very very good player for years in the NFL. Very good in pass coverage and run support. Outstanding blitzer and makes plays.

Guys to stay away from
Taylor Mays - S, USC. Look dude is a hard hitter and a physical specimen. But he is not what the Saints need. He will be a bust. There are to many playmakers in front of him, against mediocre competition. Never and I mean Never wraps up. His coverage skills are average at best.

William Moore - S Mizzou - Cheaper version of Mays.

Eugene Monroe - To Soft for the NFL. Jamaal Brown reincarnated. He's a RT and the first round is not where you pick RT's.

Malcolm Jenkins - I suspect him to have the biggest drop in Draft Stock, the dude just gets beat way to much. LSU raped him, Florida raped him, USC raped him. Texas IMO will do the same.
To me he is a much better S prospect, as he does not have good enough timed speed nor fluid enough hips to play in the NFL at CB. Think Antrel Rolle all over again.
