My grandfather bought his pair of season tickets in 1967. Over the years my family has added tickets as the family has grown. We currently have 12 season tickets and are seriously thinking about getting rid of them. I know people will say "oh if you don't buy them someone else will". And we are getting to the point of being fine with that.

Many of us are fine with this and would still be Saints fans if they move. Most of us watch the majority of their games on TV anyway; what’s the difference if it’s San Antonio just make a trip 1-2 times a year.
The combination of city falling apart with poor management will force their hand to sell and move eventually.

As recent franchises are selling for $5B there is no Louisiana contingent that can afford the Saints once they sell after Gayle passes. And for $5B plus, the new owner’s desires control much more than any silly state or Gayle backed succession plan.

Nobody's to blame when the Saints move. NOLA was a city that was a worthy NFL city in 1967. One day, it won't be. The decline of the city continues. One day, perhaps the NFL Commissioner and Owners will no longer desire to have NOLA available as a Superbowl-host site.
When will this all happen? I do not know. But, IMHO, it will happen.

I gave up mine last season. Not because of the product on the field but because I value my life, my families lives and my personal possessions. Too much bullshite going on in that city for me to keep forking out 12k per year on tickets. With the money I saved from tickets we went to two road games this season.

NOLA as a Super Bowl host site has already dropped considerably from the days of used to host every 5-6 years from the early 70s to early 90s.
With the constant news about murder capital of the US and inability of the city to protect Saints/Pels vehicles, I’d expect to host maybe every 15 years. This won’t be enough to save the Saints. Far too many nice stadiums with retractable roofs these days.

Same. I have tickets to the first game in Tulane Stadium framed. You won’t miss it.
I stopped going to the games in 2015. Subbed the work of driving downtown, parking, eating trash concessions and dealing with assholes for Sunday watch parties with the family during the season. Good food, good drink, no assholes, no parking, and a few extra thousand pocketed will lessen any blow you feel.

Not really, as a fan it just makes the winning seasons that much more fun. That’s why that Super Bowl year was so amazing and the last 15 years I’m general. My entire childhood was miserable losing while listening to blacked out home games on the radio.
There are plenty of nfl franchises around the league that still fill stadiums when their team is bad. The mentality in this thread is mostly fair weather fans. Nfl owners are getting plenty of money from tv deals. Empty stadiums just look terrible for free agents. People can do whatever they want though. Just don’t like the people saying things like “most of us would be fine if they move” that’s obviously not true lol

It’s not the same New Orleans we grew up in, so I’ve long decoupled the Saints (who I pull for) from a city who is justifiably despised my many here. Once you separate the two, and discover New Orleans doesn’t deserve the franchise it gets easier to accept.

I was attending the games when Rick fricking Venturi was interim coach in 1996. I can say whatever I like about the franchise and be anything but a fair weather fan.

Lol I don’t think that at all. People can think whatever they want to think about a team. I was just saying the majority of the fan base wouldn’t be okay with the team moving
