To not play him when Jameis is clearly hurt?
This was the whole point of getting a seasoned backup to have on deck when the starter went down.

This is Allen's career on the line as a HC. I don't think he would start Winston if he feels Dalton is better. Who knows though?
I do think if the offense struggles again this week, we'll see Dalton at some point vs the Vikings

So he's the better option and the organization is intentionally keeping him sidelined because that's how you win games?

I think it's a lot more complicated logistically than "just swap these 2 guys."
The playbook would change, the schemes would change, the locker room could be impacted. It's not as easy as flipping two pieces on a game board.
Also, if Dalton fails too, then what? You try Jameis again? you have to be absolutely certain you are done with Jameis for good.

Y’all need to go watch Dalton’s play from last year. It was pretty bad. I don’t really see him improving from that at 35. Dalton was signed in case Winston had a season ending injury. I’m not going to care either way because Dalton isn’t winning us any games either if the playcalling and O line doesn’t step it up.

it's not necessarily. but it takes time to figure out. it's not a plug and play scenario.
And as many have pointed out, with the O-line how it is, no one is set up for success right now.

What happened to the oline yesterday? I thought they played really well vs the bucs after righting the ship in the 3rd quarter vs falcons.

Makes no sense unless you look at it as they believe it won’t be popular with players and a large percentage of fans. It’s a business. Unless Book or someone similar is your backup, you take the guy out with the fricked up back and bad decision making.

Insanity by Dennis Allen! Playing Winston when he is clearly limited by his physical ailments is stupid. Even the play-by-play commentators are continually use the back problems and ankle problems as excuse when Winston makes a bad play.
