How much of this was due to a poor running game or defense? 28th in rushing both years. 26th in defense in both years.

you are preaching to the chior, I HATE counting team accomplishments like that for or against QB's. I'm just saying its a factor. When was the last time NE had a losing record? 2002 i think (though they won 11 with Brady out for the year).

I think Brees and Manning have more pressure on them to get a lead b/c their defenses are designed to play from the lead.

agreed

until recently, Brady could say the same thing.

yep, Brady was getting credit for being elite when he really wasn't because the team did well. now that the D has deteriated, he's having to do more.

It's a career thing. As long as Brady and Peyton are in the NFL, they are 1 & 2. If Rodgers gets another ring, he will be #3. That's just the way it is and I can't really argue it.

ESPN is the Tebow network right now. Before that, they were the Rodgers network. They're firm believers in overkill, mainly pandering to the big markets.

Denver and Green Bay?

I realize Green Bay has a national following, but since when are Denver (Tebow) or Green Bay (Rodgers) considered big markets?

They're not. Some saints fans have massive inferiority complexes even though they're 10-3 and considered one of the top franchises right now.

It's mind boggling but bitchers gotta bitch about something.

I wasn't. I was just asking why he always seems to be the odd man out.
There's never really a case for Drew one way or the other: why he should be #1-2 or why he should be #3. It just always seems to be a given.

I didn't say Green Bay and Denver are big markets. I said ESPN panders to the big markets. In this case, they beat a dead horse over what they consider the "hot" QBs, and that's not Brees.

Watch ESPN's NFL show and see how many times they mention Tebow vs. how many times they mention the Saints.

Smaller market, less historic franchise.

Saints are good for a feel-good story one year, and it's happened. The media will now resort back to the teams that bring viewers.

All I know is I wouldn't trade him for anyone period. The dude beat 3 teams led by Hall of Fame QB's to win the Super Bowl and should have been League MVP that year.

Has any other QB in history had to win against 3 teams with HOF QB's before? I could be wrong but I doubt it.

C'mon man - surely you realize why folks are talking about Tebow right now, right? They're on a 6 game win streak and NO ONE considers him a "good" QB.

Yet. Dude. Keeps. Winning.

That's a national story. What would you prefer them talk about? Drew Brees and the Saints?
Yes? Ok, then what do you want them to ACTUALLY discuss to fill the air waves?

Here's my re-enactment of a story about Drew Brees:
"This is Jim Rome and here's my panel. Fellas, here's my question for the day - is Drew Brees good and will the Saints do good in the Playoffs?"
Every member of the panel: "Yes Drew is one of the top 3 QBs in the league today. Yes, the Saints appear to be the only team that can challenge GB for the SB this year!"
...
...
...
and dead silence since no one argues that. In order to get media attention in todays world - you have to be controversial or something must be debatable.

Be friggin glad that no one is talking about you. Means your handling your business and carrying on.

Rodgers is the best QB in the league.

Brady has the rings and Manning has the popularity and name, there you go.

Brees is 2nd behind Rodgers. Rodgers is playing lights out and will win league MVP this year. Brady whines too much

I saw a thing on First Take today where they asked Skip, Eric Mangini, and Kordell Stewart. QB they would take for the last 2 minutes of a game. They showed the QBR for the top 5 this year. Tebow was fifth with a bout a 75. Rodgers and Brady were 3 and 2, with I believe 87 and 91 respectively. Brees was 1st with around a 95. Skip Bayless picked Tebow, Kordell picked Rodgers and Mangini took Brady. I am not shocked at the choices, but no one even mentioned Drew. It was so bizarre since the stats were the ones they provided.
