I think the complaint would be more legit if the saints picked a LB at 24 instead of Queen.

Saints could have had a top 10 pick tackle years ago for nothing and bite, but Cowboys did. There must but some bad blood or something
You mean the guy who all 32 teams didn’t draft, then was free to sign with anyone and chose to sign with the Cowboys?

Only Superbowl champs pick LSU players. We are the chumps

I don’t know if they should have taken Queen or not. But it’s pretty obvious they stay away from LSU players in the draft. Especially early in the draft. Don’t know if it’s still bad blood from the way they got treated in 2005 when they played in tiger stadium. But the numbers are the numbers. 2 players drafted in the late rounds in 15 years from LSU. Numbers don’t lie.

LSU produced 5 First round picks.

Yeah, you’re definitely making sense. I guess I’m just disappointed because I didn’t see OL as our biggest need. But then again, I am not being paid millions to make these decisions.

If they held a grudge, wouldn’t it be zero?

I definitely don’t think it’s a grudge from 2005. LSU has a completely different admin and coaching staff

If the Saints continue to develop talent why does it matter?

It really doesn’t. I hold LSU and the Saints completely apart. Just a question

lets go through the last...5 years; top 3 rounds
players we were unable to obtain:
devin white, greedy williams, donte jackson, derrius guice, dj clark, leonard fournette, jamal adams
reasonably may have been able to
arden key, tredavious white, duke riley, kendall beckwith
could have drafted
ethan pocic, deion jones, jalen collins, danielle hunter
so really, who should we have taken?

You get too hung up on drafting the local kids and the next thing you know, you're Jacksonville drafting Blake Bortles.

But, in looking back at the season, OL could very well be the top need. We went 13-3. The games we lost, we lost because of interior pressure on Brees. We didn't lose because we don't have a 2nd WR.
Regarding linebackers- safety or nickel might be a better idea; we've got Tampa (with Brady) twice, Atlanta (with Ryan and those Bama WRs) twice, and Carolina (with Joe Brady as the new OC) twice. 4-2-5 might be the base for practical purposes.

Exactly Jacksonville drafts all the guys from Florida schools. They did it again today and that hasn’t got them anywhere

Who do we constantly have to bring this up over and over again?

I think it goes way back when they had several LA players on the roster and got a lot of bad press when it was time for contract negotiations. I'm talking back in the days of DH, EM, BH, and Buford Jordan.

Except they don’t refuse to draft LSU players
Posted on 4/24/20 at 8:45 am to NolaTiger52
There are 6 more rounds and at least a dozen more draft eligible LSU players...

It looked like an LSU player was inevitable, whether it was trading up to grab Jefferson, or grabbing Queen.
Well it seems like they didn’t want a WR or LB and obviously don’t draft based on the wants of LSU fans.

Hopefully, they are evaluating the player, not the jersey he wears.
