Why do the Saints refuse to draft LSU players?

Look, I’m not going to try to play GM here, because obviously none of us are qualified or have anywhere near the knowledge.

It looked like an LSU player was inevitable, whether it was trading up to grab Jefferson, or grabbing Queen. Honestly asking, is there some reason why this franchise is so against drafting LSU players?

Queen is overrated.

I’ll take the guy who’s most likely to be an all pro

This is your problem. This is made up fantasy with no basis in reality. You just wanted it to happen.

Maybe so, but I don’t think Saints have ever drafted an LSU player first round

Couldn’t we say the same about tons of NFL teams?

They don’t look at LSU players any differently than any other player.

You do though.

Saints could have had a top 10 pick tackle years ago for nothing and bite, but Cowboys did. There must but some bad blood or something

Maybe because there are certain individuals out there whose job is to evaluate "football Players" and You're not one of them. Sorry it wan not an LSU athlete but I have full confidence in Saints front office to pick an athlete over someone drinking in front of his keyboard an being pissed.

I’m not even upset about the pick, I just thought it made more sense to fill the hole at LB. But like I said, I’m not trying to play GM here, I’m just asking the question

I love Queen but he’s a higher risk than the top C/guard in the draft. And I think he has a lot of potential but might take a little while to adjust to the speed of the game. If this is the last shot with Brees keeping him protected at all costs is a bigger need than lb

If you’ve ever followed the Saints, then you should know that is not how they draft.

Understand what you’re saying. I guess I’m just wondering if there is a reason. It kind of feels like if it were to happen, it would be this draft.

The same reason 26 other teams didn’t take him, and 4 other teams took LBer’s before him, he didn’t fit what they wanted.

The reason was they thought Ruiz was better.

I kinda figured Murray was our guy, especially when LAC traded in front of us.
