If Bailey, Styles, & Reese are off the board, I have no issue with them taking Love, Downs or Delane. Whoever they like better.

I’d probably say Delane is the bigger need but Love might be the better prospect. But I’d be good with any of them.

I think you're sleeping on Carnell Tate. The positional value of the WR position has gotten ridiculous. Mid-tier #2 receivers are making $20+ million, #1 WR are >$40 million. If Tate is only an upper tier #2, he's more valuable from a cap standpoint than a premier RB, LB, or safety.

This is they key to the rest of the draft right? I tend to think that it will be Styles or Downs as opposed to Reese. I dont think that Glenn needs a developmental project row.

His butt is on the line here and i think that he needs an immediate impact player.

2022: #16 -> #11
2018: #27 -> #14

What am I missing? We traded mid/ late 1sts for earlier picks. #8 is higher than any pick we've traded up for. 0% of past trade ups have been for a better pick than our current 1st. Judging by those trade ups it actually looks like we are more likely to trade back to #10-#14.

We aren't trading back or up IMO. If we do anything we would trade back into the 1st with our '27 1st. Although I'd rather use that '27 1st on a Crosby/ Brian Thomas Jr > trading into the 1st.

I want to trade '27 2nd/ '26 4th/ ? for Jordyn Brooks, #75, #94. Dolphins have (4) 3rds. We should definitely be looking at next years 2nd/ 3rd and Werner to get back into the top 100.

I think Delane is who the Saints need. You get a shut down CB and your team gets a lot better instantly.

If they are that ignorant, then Nussmeier is definitely the pick.

What you are missing is that Mickey never trades down, only up.

Mickey hasn't traded up or down with a Top 10 pick. We usually trade up because we aren't a bad team or in the top 10.

If we are #15-#25 every year its likely we trade up and if we are #1-#10 its more likely we trade down.

I think that's more of a draft position thing than a Mickey thing.

Last year was one of few years we heard about trade backs. Its not an outlier, its just what happens when your pick is low and not high teens/ 20s.

I think they’d consider it if you truly have him as #1 player in the draft. You’d basically have 2 high end RBs for what a Bijan or Gibbs would cost on their pending extensions.

Obviously you’d be planning to use both through the air a bit.

You also likely be looking to add another Guard so this physical style of offense actually works.

And Mickey has never traded down regardless of draft position. You can trade a late first round pick to get multiple later round picks; there’s no rule against it and there have been several years I wish he would have done it. But he never has. Again that was the point being made that you missed.

I would definitely get Love into a slot position and get the ball to him in space. If you can do that consistently you'll give defenses nightmares.

My whole point is in regards to the draft position. 1 pick is top 10 and all the rest were in the 20's or late teens.

Since 2006 we have had (12) 1sts in the Top 15 and we did not trade up any of those picks. Some of those picks were traded into the Top 15 but then selections were made.

The other (11) 1sts since 2006 have an average slection of #26.7. If you take out the 2 years we drafted #19/20 the average would be closer to pick #28.

In the last 20 years the Saints we have traded up 0%, traded back 0%, and made selections 100% in the Top 15.

We have just as much of a chance to trade down as we do to trade up. There's a clear discrepancy here.

D.Bailey. Dude is going to be a disrupter, and you want that on your defense.

You can trade down with every single draft pick you have, regardless of where it is; but Mickey has never done it. What about that is so hard for you to understand??
