Who was the qb before Brooks?

Was telling a friend that Brooks would of never been the qb had it not been for his injury. I just can't remember his name.

I just sold a Jeff Blake Jersey at our yard sale and got a whole dollar for it. I also had a Brooks as well, its still in the didn't sell box. I will probably just use it for a shop rag when I change my oil.

In 2000, we went:
6-3 With Blake
5-4 With Brooks
In TC and Preseason Blake looked to be outplaying Brooks...yet Brooks was the guy in 2001.

Nope.
Jake Delhomme was the last starter before Blake. Delhomme started the last two games in 1999.
Billy Joe Tolliver and Billy Joe Hobert were the two QBs before that. Actually, I think Weurful was still on the team in 1999 and I think he may have started the season...

I wouldn't do that if I were you... You will likely end up with fresh oil in your radiator or somehow manage to miss your vehicle completely. Either way - you might as well smile. There's going to be considerable cleanup involved.

That's really not true. I always liked Blake and thought he was a better QB for our offense at the time, as he was more of a traditional drop back passer. But he didn't outplay Blake in the preseason. The problem was the coaching staff wouldn't let Blake play with the starters during preseason. Brooks always got the start and Blake would come in after him with the backups. It wasn't really a competition.
