"Abdul is still around, he's got a band that plays all over town ..."

I know Abdul is still around - and he puts together some good tunes - but the old "Tentmakur" bit was pretty outrageous and funny even though extremely un-PC.

"How about Buddy trying to advertise for Mitchubeetchee (Mitsubishi) ..."

Dang, I had forgotten that! That was hilarious and I don't know that he EVER got that word out correctly!

One more recollection and it was actually a caller rather than Buddy himself. After a Saints loss, a caller said, "Buddy, all I got to say is 'screen passes.' Can't run 'em, can't defend 'em."

Buddy could get anyone to order Domino's Pizzzzzzza

When Buddy was selling it, it was Domino's "Pete-zer"
There was a TV commercial where he wore a Domino's uniform and stood next to a car holding a pizza box. The commercial was MAYBE 30 seconds long, and I think it might have only been 15 or 20 seconds. There were about a half dozen splices in it, because they needed Buddy to spit out a lot of info in a short time. Even after the editing process, the bit ended w/ Buddy saying "...call Domino's Pete-zer!"

He was an entertaining - and knowlegable - guy.

I'll never forget when Buddy D used to do the caller mock drafts the week before the draft happened. During the (I think it was '04 draft?) he kept calling Ben Roethlisberger, "Ben Rosseltrout."

On numerous occasions. It wasn't one slip up.

a'la Dontae Stallpepper.

At least Big Ben was drafted by another team. Stallworth was OUR guy!

Sid was still calling shows up until a couple of years ago. I always liked when he called Kaare.

Sid is still around and calls the shows on 990 a lot. He is still pretty funny.

His moniker after Kitrina was (maybe not exactly but you get the point) : Sid who used to be from Jefferson and formally of gentilly and now Sid from room 215 of the Tusculosa Hampton Inn

Old enough to remember that WWL sports was basically just horse racing, less so during football season. Hap came on just before Nash would tell us about our "max" and "min" of the day.

Hap died on New Years' Eve, 1989.
Hap was polite to a fault, everyone was "sir" to him, and he had a very gentle demeanor as he aged.
I'm 43, so I remember him quite well.
