This thread may have worked if the kick was short.

It was still a dumb decision, even if he would have made it. It would have been dumb.

Meh, kicker has the leg to kick it. The real crime was the play calling on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down.

the play calling wasn't the big problem there, it was Kitna's accuracy or lack thereof.

Keep in mind it was 4th and TEN. 4th and shorter, you probably go for it knowing you have two timeouts in tow.

It's hardly a given you're going to pull out 10 yards, and if you don't the game is over anyway.

I actually like the decision to take your chances on the FG, especially if you know your kicker has the leg for it.

I'm an idiot because I think a team who has been moving the ball with ease kicking a 59 yard field goal is dumb? I don't think you understand how long a 59 yard field goal is, he had the distance but he didn't hit it straight.. because it's a hard fricking kick.

I don't care that he almost made it, that's stupid.

That's a stupid statement. 4th and 11 is very low percentage also.

Your offense has gotten ZERO yards on the previous 3 plays.........ZERO yards.

I'm not seeing what having 2 timeouts has to do with anything.

It was probably a higher percentage play than the alternative (going for it on 4th and 10 and still kicking a FG.)

Not a bad decision.

There was another clip in the "related" section of Janikowski attempting a 64 yarder. He hit the upright about 10 feet up. Had plenty of leg, just a hair off.
