This unit has underachieved for years. Besides Colston, Devery Henderson, Meachem and Lance Moore who has Johnson developed?..... Michael Thomas is naturally gifted and fit into what Payton was doing at the time.

Brandon Coleman, Nick Toon, Brandin Cooks, Kenny Stills, Willie Snead, Andy Tanner, man I can't remember all the bodies that have come thru.

Meachem and Lance Moore didnt develop here, and you can tell by the fact that neither had success once they left. It's one of the reasons I think Brees should get more respect.

This position group is the one that ALWAYS had a training camp star that never panned out. Adrian Arrington was the Nick Toon before Toon was a thing

EVEN PAYTON was hyping our receivers last offseason saying they liked who they had on the team

people thought johnson was behind the magic of our productive no name receivers when our offense was at its peak but yeah pretty clear they were a product of brees

I’m not sure your post makes sense.

That’s a pretty good group. And I love Devery, but he was a body catcher in college and turned into a legit NFL WR under Johnson. You can probably give him credit for Cameron Meredith in Chicago too.

They were here while Curtis was not. And I think we can safely say Coleman, Toon & Tanner failed to develop. And Cooks and Stills also got by on talent and didn’t really get any better than what they originally were.

If anything, your post actually shows we had better WRs while he was here and had underperforming WRs while he was gone.

I understand what you're saying, but that was a long time ago my friend.

More recently he’s been here the entire time that MT13 and Deonte Harris have developed. TreQuan has been a disappointment but that’s mostly due to injuries. Callaway has been good for what he is. Kamara has been great in the passing game.

Not sure what you expect him to do with Lil’Jordan, TLL, Austin Carr or Bennie Fowler.

Usually people are judged on their tract record. His has been really good. If you disagree you disagree and that’s cool.

Yea I think people are forgetting that CJ left the Saints for like 5 years and the past few years he’s been a senior offensive assistant and not the WR Coach

Boy y’all sure know how to turn on people real quick on here. He was a part of the success the saints had at developing the stars at wr over Payton’s tenure. If he wasn’t he wouldn’t have been brought back after he left for Tulane.

Also he help develop some of the best nfl wrs to come out of the state of florida. Santana miss, Andre Johnson, and also Louisiana native Reggie Wayne.

Those guys from Miami are on record of talking about how Johnson impacted their careers from both recruiting and developing them.

I think his track record when you combine all of those names should not be questioned. Find something else to talk about…
