Never became free, Indy had to trade for him and at that point it was known Winston was coming back to NOLA
And depending on the costs (don’t recall what they traded away) they’d be dumbasses to take Winston over Ryan unless the “know” Winston is the future solution at QB due to age difference

BS. If Indy really wanted him, they would have signed him. Things move fast so you have to decide quick or get left out. He wasn’t getting traded until they went after Watson hard.

If you have the option for both, you’d be foolish not to take Ryan for the next 3 years. But, Ryan wasn’t a FA and therefore not available for the Saints. Ryan also wasn’t available to Indy until Atl pissed him off by going all in on Watson

You jus repeated what I said. Winston was completely free and they didn’t sign him. There was also rumors they were going with Baker if they couldn’t get Ryan.
There was no market for Winston.

It wasn’t me but there is no doubt Winston is better than Dalton. You have probably never watched Dalton play a single game. But that doesn’t stop you from saying ignorant stuff. It never has

I watched Dalton a lot. I said this earlier this week, he got his team to the playoff 5 years in a row, something Brees couldn’t even do.

I’m not a big Red Rocket guy, I actually started the very first thread to get Watson before he was even cleared of the charges over the summer. I still stand by that after watching Winston.

The last time Dalton was playing good football we were invading the beaches at Normandy. He’s a backup for a reason.

Whirfs was a rookie, Gronk coming off retirement. And nobody was after LF7, who was cut off the Jags or crazy AB, who was also cut. They had to take chump change to sign with Tampa, any other team could have signed them.
