Lets be clear, some of the Carr hate, last year, was justified in a few games and of the mistakes he made, an unsettling number were not due to being injured, tbh.
On the other hand, yes, new QB, growing pains, OL was shitty at times, receiver core injured considerably, miscommunication on QB/WR routes and errant throws or throws that were checkdowns/ short of the marker AND needing to get a certain distance for a 1st but falling confusingly short, from a cognitive recognition of down and distance standpoint, etc. Just wasn't a good year. Granted. It is what it was.

Now, good game from Derek today. Got out in front and Bryce Young might not be a franchise QB, tbh, verdict pending obviously... Good win. Much needed win and more importantly, in such a decisive manner. Hope is eternal still.

However, just as those who criticized Carr at times prematurely or without some merit often last year, but TODAY, failing to keep the same energy/sentiments about Carr in a GOOD win (crickets you say??), it's my hope to those who are wanting crow to be a dish serve to the many in copious amounts, I would suggest to restrain from doing so, bc 1: his play spoke for himself, 2) haters gonna still hate but moreso 3) it's one game...

Derek, during his Raider days, had some good if not great games, here or there... With Derek it's always been about consistency... Hey, he had his good game today. I think we all HOPE and LOOK FORWARD to Derek having a better year, career year, injury free year and a year that gives us a chance to win in a marginally improved division and make the playoffs. We KNOW we should win our division. The cupboards are not bare...

Lets ALL live in the moment and be thankful we can and should be better than what alot of pundits and naysayers were saying in the off-season and at least for a week, we can believe in the achievable.

I digress... Put some water on the Spencer Rattler debate, as of now. Good job D. Carr--- KEEP IT UP. GO SAINTS.

Agreed. And this has always been his biggest issue. I stand by what I said over the off-season when there was a ton of Carr haters spouting off. He’s an average to above average qb who can be very accurate and good when he’s not pressured and has decent weapons around him.

Hes not really a qb that can elevate nobodies like Brees was. Those are special and that’s not Carr.,

But it’s hilarious when idiots on here spout off that he’s a backup level player in the league or say Winston is a better qb than him.

Carr looked good today. New offense suited him well, he looked like Brock Purdy out there.

This isn’t the first good game of his career. The frustration comes from the lack of consistency. We played the worst schedule in the league last year. This is what he was supposed to look like

Yeah he had broken ribs and a separated AC joint, think that didn’t affect him?

Duly noted, my friend... It's up to Derek, Dennis and our coordinators to put our talent in the right positions to make plays...

I'm just glad I can see a game where, if they play THAT way, they have the players to win... We have talent, remember we were "Sleeper" Super Bowl favorites last year, my goodness as to how that turned out, but the talent still remains and some detractors on the team from last year are no longer amongst the ranks.

It's been a sunny, beautiful day, Saints won resoundingly and we the "#1 seed" or at least can stake claim, thereto...

I'm going find my "beach" and sip coronas and maintain a spirit of contentment for the rest of the day... And what's more, I can watch ESPN and various, other media outlets without a self-imposed restriction to such, due to being aggravated as to the reminder of a frustrating loss... Last season wasn't fun, eh?

Certainly didn't have this feeling at any point. Wins were like, done so in spite of w.e. or the opponent just played a shittier game than we did...

Again, GOOD WIN TODAY, not great, due to the opponent, but nonetheless, WE DID WHAT WE are capable of doing, if WE play to our potential.

Not saying he is, and I understand it was a matter of situations, but he has been the best QB in the NFL over the last 5 regular season weeks.

Somehow put up “top 10” stats and was the best qb over whatever arbitrary number of games you want to pick.
