Clear matte lacquer to protect and strenghten one’s nails is not “paint”, and I’ve not worn eye makeup since my older sisters were forbidden to dress me as a woman once I turned 5 or 6 years old.

Saints fans everywhere pointing their fingers at Dennis Allen and David Carr and most of them are too dumb to understand what the real problem is.

We have the stupidest fan base in the NFL.

Most fans wanted Carr. Most also thought Baker was complete dogshit.

Loomis and Payton fricked this team in win now mode and at the time it was right. But once we got fricked in 2018 vs the Rams, we should have traded Brees. That was the NFL saying the Saints weren't winning another SB. That was the time to start getting out of cap hell. But we're worse now. Not getting any better either.

Theoretically after year 3 it would be palatable.

In reality, we're going to restructure his contract which will extend his time here past that 3 years.

TLDR - After next season.

Only if we don't restructure his deal.

quote:

Next year, Carr's base salary jumps to $30M as his total cap his balloons to $35.7M.

Per OTC, even with the $30M being guaranteed, cutting him post-June 1 would be cap neutral for 2024 (however this would really hurt 2025's cap). The problem is that we are projected to be more than $72M over the 2024 cap already, so a cap-neutral cut would probably not be enough in the larger picture.

That $30M base salary isn't shocking, either, b/c that is likely the meat where the FO thought they could shave $20M+ off the 2024 cap via restructuring. However, this also assumed Carr would be a quality (as opposed to shitty) QB. Kicking the can works if we plan on extending him to ease the burden of the huge hit, but if he sucks, then that plan doesn't work.

A restructure also makes 2025 pretty crazy, b/c he has a $30M salary and $10M roster bonus. His 2025 cap hit is already $45.7M. A restructure would push this over $50M, which is why an extension makes more sense, cap-wise.

The NFL puts players and management right where they want them.
The shite is rigged and fixed and it's gets easier and easier to see it...
