Downs is.

Love isn't.

You're about to see a lot of teams start copying the 3 safety look of BAL and you need a S like Kyle Hamilton to do that. Downs can be that guy.

You also see the Seahawks (run by MacDonald who taught the Ravens' DC the defense) do similar things with Nick Emmanwori.

A S who can play at all levels both vertically and horizontally is extremely rare and extremely important with modern defenses. Downs is supposedly one of those guys.

Then just draft a damn guard. It’s not a hard concept. You don’t have to keep moving Fuaga every damn year.

downs is absolutely value to this team. I still think drafting rb’s in the first is unwise in today’s NFL, so I lean more toward Downs, or either side of the trenches in the first. But bailey just looks like he’ll be a productive player, Bain is definitely boom or bust.

I’m not advocating to draft Love, my point is that if you are picking in the top 10, I think you have to set your eyes towards finding a generational type talent, and that is Love. Not a RT that might have to move to Guard

Love is a Bijan/CMC type RB. The Gap between him & RB2 in this draft is the biggest out of any position.

The Saints RB room is one of the 5 worst in the league. RBs that can run & catch like Love can be the focal point of an offense. Shough needs a weapon there and this would make sense, against most conventional wisdoms.
