Adams is an elite #1 receiver. Olave is not.

Then why trade him?

You should look up the endowment effect. People overvalue their own assets/possessions and undervalue things they don’t own. Those of us that are telling you he wouldn’t garner a 1st or 2nd round pick are being rational. Look at the comps. “You” that are saying he is worth a 1st or 2nd have an emotional bias and would be severely disappointed in the return on his trade if traded.

The downvotes are bothersome. We aren’t winning anything with this roster and we’ll only be digging a deeper hole by prolonging it

The downvotes are more reflective of what posters think we will actually get for these guys vs the inflated 2nd/3rd rd picks. We’re not getting much for a 30 year old back and a guy with 3-4 concussions already.

We should trade Chase Young or Granderson to Detroit. They lost Hutchinson and have Devenport on IR. They should be desperate for a DE.

This is actually a very good idea. But hell no on Granderson.

I’m not sure I’d even try to resign Chase Young after the season, he’s on a one year deal and we’d get cap relief for this year. And no telling how much he will want. San Fran gave up a third for a rental last year. And he’s played better this year than last. Maybe Detroit gets desperate.

Might as well start Fosky or Turner and see what yiu got since we tanking anyway. Or trade any of the three, whoever brings back the most compensation. But I’m not trading Granderson.,

Why no on Granderson? You aren’t getting draft picks by trading away bad players. Granderson isn’t great, he’s just the best of the crap we have. His biggest value is that a team like Detroit is super desperate. That’s when you strike for big value.

Like I said before, nobody is giving you a good draft pick for Olave or Davis or Kamara. The need isn’t there for those trades. Detroit needs a DE badly.

Amen. It’s like people think we can somehow dump off aging players on competent, contending franchises with much better overall rosters.

Last year CMAC was far and away the best running back in the league

We already went over this. Why trade him? Very simple. This team as constructed is broken. Tying up money into a wr like this when you have no depth and aging players is asinine. It’s the same thing we did with Brandin Cooks. We didn’t want to pay him and we got a first rounder for him. I think you’re just having a hard time at reading comprehension. Yes Olave will get you a first rounder or 2nd rounder and change.

It’s as if you don’t understand how the cap works. Trading granderson instantly triggers a dead money cap hit of 20 million dollars. A team that has to unload money not take on more money. Grandson cannot be traded. He is one of the few that cannot be touched.

DA will be active because his future is on line.

Olave is worth a 3rd all day long maybe a 2. AK is a 3rd. I will take those 2 picks and move on from these guys.

You do see the problem with your logic right? Let's take picks and draft players, let them get accustomed to the NFL game, become good players and immediately trade them to help another team win more games and repeat the process. At what point do we tinker with the idea of KEEPING good players and trying to win games for the saints

New staff next year and maybe a new GM we need draft picks and an overhaul of this team. This team is OLD

Exactly. The scouting department needs to be given pink slips.

Agree with the last statement but the rest, new staff and GM, sounds like wishful thinking. But ok let's go with your exact narrative, who is giving us good draft picks for old players?

Even with draft picks, there is going to be a point again where you have an olave, not old player, good, but not as young as a draft pick. You're not drafting All 22 starters in one draft, eventually if you want to keep a player they are going to be older

In no way should we ever pay Alvin kamara more money at this point in his career if we’re serious about winning or getting this turned around.

Olave is likely going to want to be paid as one of the top receivers in the nfl when it’s likely going to be questionable if his skill set warrants that. I’m definitely not opposed to trading him instead of giving him a huge deal

Whoever needs a WR.

Chargers I think don’t have the best group of WR. Would have to look at other teams and there WRs.

If garret wilson was traded he’d get a 1st or second. Olave is better than Wilson.

Olave should not receive a big contract. Too many concussions

Every year he's missed a game or two because of concussions. Of all the players we have, he needs to figure it out ASAP or wear the stupid cap

I would see if any contender would give up a 6th or 7th for Chase Young. A team like Detroit makes sense

No he wont.

The Saints are not players in the trade market. And shouldn't be.

This team is going nowhere so why trade for an asset that someone else doesn't want to help your team finish in the top 5?

No one want the Saints old overpaid veterans, and getting rid of young talent makes no sense when you'll have to use whatever draft capital you get to replace the young players you just gave up.
