This defense is locked and ready to carry this team to the Super Bowl.

Imagine the legacy that Sean and Drew would cement if they won a Superbowl with both a high-scoring passing offense(2009) AND a team that switched identities in the middle of the season and won it with a stout running game and a smothering defense(2018).

Has one coach and quarterback ever won two super bowls with two completely different team identities like that?

Until we score 40 again. Then we'll allow 37.

I really need to see drew back at home score over 30 pts before I can breathe easy again.

Very early in their run New England was known more for stout defense and ball control. By the time they won again in 2014 the offense was routinely putting up 30 (and sometimes) 40 point games

Even if NE was putting up points, most every year they went far in the playoffs they had a top 10 defense.

So you could say they were a complete team, but rarely just an offensive team. That's part of why they've been consistently great (that and playing in the AFC East).

Remember the Bengals and Eagles earlier this season?

I immediately thought about Peyton Manning. Elway was another one that almost did it.

If the offense comes out flat for the fourth game in a row then maybe you’re right.

Until then, this is still an offensive team that just shite the bed offensively over the last three weeks on the road.
