Texans’ QB Deshaun Watson is expected to meet in the next 48 hours with the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints, amongst other teams, per league sources. Watson wants to meet with them just as they want to meet with him before trade talks ramp up.

One thing to me that this does is really, really hamstring teams holding out for him in FA.

What if he chooses elsewhere? By then, Winston and many top FAs will have chosen other teams by this afternoon.

You do what you have to do to get a QB, but a long process really screws whomever doesn't get him in FA.

As good of a prospect it is for having Watson at QB, it is not worth the risk in my opinion that it will have in this team moving forward whether it falls through or not.

The loss in draft capital and cap space along with some of the talent that would have to be sent their way simply isn’t worth it given the Saints’ situation.

They will lose out on fallback options quickly and then be left in an even worse position for this year while still being depleted at tackle and safety.

If you get him, you've got yourself a very good QB, and nothing else matters if you don't have one. Yeah the cost is high and there is going to be some issues, but you've always got a chance if you have a QB.

If we miss out...things could get dicey. You may have to trade for Baker or go all in in the draft.

Is there more incentive & pressure on Loomis & Co. now that it’s looking like Watson will either be a Saints or a Panther? I damn sure dont want the Saints to have to face Watson 2x’s every season!

I bet CDA’s waiting outside Loomis office door every time he opens it up asking for an Update LOL!!

Sounds like Browns are one of the other teams:

I think the Browns could have an edge. They have close to as good a roster as the Saints plus a QB to throw in. Plus Baker is a Texas guy.

Couple of things though…it’s the browns, the AFC looks brutal holding most of the QB balance now, Dome >>>>outdoor in Cleveland

Saints have been a contender for a long time.
Saints play in a dome.
Saints have one of the best home field advantages.
Saints are in the NFC.
Saints are in a Division ripe to be dominated.

I’d say we are an attractive destination.

That's going to suck for the Panthers. I'll feel bad for them when we kick their arse.

Saints don't have Sean Payton. Hopefully the can sell Carmichael as a Payton clone offensively.
