Welcome to week 5 of the 2018 Saints game thread

BA-DA-DA-DAAAAAA dun dun - dun dun

It's Monday Night Football for what's expected to be a record breaking night for Saints QB Drew Brees as the Saints host the Washington Redskins.

The Saints are coming off of a 33-18 win at New York against the same Giants team that saw a 63 yd FG go through at 0:00 to fall at Carolina yesterday

... while the Redskins enjoyed their bye week last week and will be fresh for tonight's game. The Redskins beat the (now 2-2) Packers in their last game out 31-17... their previous results are a win over (1-4) Arizona and a loss to (now 1-4) Indianapolis.

The Saints will be bolstered by the return of the previously-suspended Mark Ingram... who is finished with his 4-game PED suspension and will be back... though I think Kamara will still be the main back tonight and then Ingram will fully take back his role in the line-up after next week's bye

WR Ted Ginn, Jr. will miss tonight's game with a knee injury... but Manti Te'o I believe will be back even though he's officially "questionable" and hopefully Trey Hendrickson is over the illness that ailed him during the practice week... meanwhile the Redskins are pretty healthy too with the only players listed out being G Shawn Lauvao & S Troy Apke

Record Watch: As noted... tonight is expected to be a huge night for Drew Brees. He's 99 yards away from passing Brett Favre for 2nd most passing yards in NFL history and just 201 yards away from passing Peyton Manning for the top spot in that category and become the NFL's passing yards king.

On another note... Drew is just 4 TD passes away from becoming the 4th QB all-time to throw for 500 career TDs. Of course... Tom Brady became the 3rd to hit that mark last Thursday night
