Documentary covers Will Smiths murder. Watched some of it last night before falling asleep. Shows both angles, and talks to alot of the people involved. Only saints player I remember seeing was Lance Moore but I watched maybe half.

Can’t remember, but didn’t Tyrann Mathieu say something about Cardale being well known in the city for being a hot head?

If cooler heads prevailed, one would be alive and one wouldn't be in jail...
It was a lose lose situation on both sides...

WS didn’t deserve to die obviously but when you mix alcohol, loaded guns, and tempers flaring this is the kind of shite that happens. If WS had been sober I would think it would have ended differently. I don’t know what kind of person Cardell is, maybe he felt scared when WS and that Hernandez guy got out and were pissed off. I think it does say something that he stayed on scene and iirc he also called the police himself.
I hate it for Cardell’s son and family and also for WS family. VICE did have a very positive slant on CH and we don’t know how accurate or inaccurate that is. He may have been a good dude who got scared and acted in self defense, or he may have been truly a thug, none of us know. And my remark about guns is not antigun, I own guns and hunt myself. I just know when mixed with alcohol and tempers, especially in the streets of NO, it ain’t good. Hell I’ve seen it almost go bad between 2 dudes while dove hunting before when all of us were drunk. Sad situation and I hate it for both families involved

Fox Mulder will be here shortly to tell me I’m virtue signaling and ask me why I felt the need to say it is a sad situation.

Watched. I thought it was really well done. How true Cardelle's side of the story is? No idea. Thought provoking to say the least.

Well if you drink and drive, you lose

This story has always lead me to ask "what would we say if it wasnt a Saint" and i think a lot of people would have very different opinions.

Story definitely slanted toward Cardelle and argues that the jury was biased toward him because he killed a Saints player.
No matter how true any of that is...he still fired the gun.
Yes there are some terrible circumstances, but he should have called police when he was rear ended and Will Smith drove away. Following them and then rear ending Will Smith started the physical confrontation. It's difficult to claim self defense when you shot someone 8 times in the back and side.
What was a minor traffic incident ends up in a death and someone losing 25 years of their life to prison.
I don't doubt that he was the sweetest, most loving guy there is - but he still pulled that trigger 8 times...have to pay a price for that decision.

No one would give a shite. It would just be another black guy killing a black guy in nola.

I can't stop thinking about the impact it had on Cardale's son and will forever affect him. It's just sad all-around and could've been so easily avoided.

I hope you learned your lesson, because this is about the dumbest thing that you could ever do while enjoying the great outdoors

Most definitely, glad I’m not 18 anymore, and a dumbass 18 y/o at that. Fwiw I wasn’t involved in the incident and me and the 2 guys I knew well did leave not long after b/c one of the guys just wouldn’t calm down but I didn’t personally know either person, (the 2 involved)

Ya think???
My goodness. The man went after him over a fender bender and shot the shite out of him after getting into it with him. What good is going to come out this? None, call the police and report it. Get his tag if you need to.. but don't go getting into a rage with a weapon.
Of course he needs to pay for his attitude. 25 years is not even enough. He took a life over his hot head. He is 100% responsible and he can't just go around murdering people he gets into conflict with.
Sick of dudes that go after others and then when they aren't about that fighting, they simply take the easy way out and murder them.. and at times even get away with it.. claiming self defense.
He had no business shooting this guy 8 times. That was clear intent to kill.. and clearly he was pissed off after whatever went down. Regardless, you don't seek out someone in the night over road rage/minor fender bender. Follow them and get their plate number if you must.. Call the cops as well. but don't go getting into a heated fight and ultimate know you have the weapon to take their life any moment. Not worth it.
This guy can never be trusted.

Just think about the impact it has on Lisa, Wynter, and William Jr.. His three children to never see their father again. I imagine that will actually forever affect their lives.. At least he can talk to his dad.

One our unwritten rules at the camp is, if you've been drinking, you don't touch a gun... Everyone knows and follows it...

Actually during the court case this is exactly what was said he was doing. Following to get plate numbers etc. and Smith and Hernandez were the ones who jumped out the car heated/drunk.

What if Will had just stopped after he hit Hayes vehicle, and not hit & ran while intoxicated, running a red light in the process?
