Falcons not pursuing negotiations on new contract. I know he was a Dirty Bird, but would be an awesome addition to our LB corps.

There was a reason he had 15.5 sacks that one year so why not

Zach Streif talked about playing against him and said he was just a guy...nothing special.

I remember reading a PFF article about how lucky it was that he had 15.5 sacks looking at the amount of pressures and hits he had on the QB and that his sack rate wasn't sustainable.
Looks like they were right because he has 18 sacks in 3 full seasons since that.

I mean... with Davenport always hurt and Anzalone probably being done.. it wouldn't hurt

And there was a reason he had 6 and 5 so that's why
(and the 55M plus contact hes going to demand)
Edit: 45M contract, revised down based on age)

Anzalone is an LB, thats not going to have any bearing on whether we sign an end
Davenport being hurt is valid concern, but we dont have the cap for a guy who is very average at best

Wait, Beasley is going to demand 55 mil?
Or did I read that wrong

any insight on why he busted so hard?

His only “move” is a speed rush. Hasn’t made adjustments or gotten better
Last year he was one of six guys with 300+ pass rushing snaps and a pass rush win rate below 10%

quote:He can demand all he wants. He will not get anything close to that. The Falcons tried to get a 6th rounder for him at the deadline and could not. He may have to settle for one of those 1 year prove-it type deals to try and work towards a good contract.

Somewhere around there is what his "team" will be pushing for
Prime of career, servicable, and theyll point to his 15 sack season as unrealized potential and playing for a dumpster fire team.
And whats crazier is, some desperate team will give him close to that on a 5 year deal
Some coach is convinced he can fix him
Edit: just saw where he will be 28 years old when the season starts...maybe not 11/yr, but 8-10 which would put him top 25 in league. crazy

Watch the Falcons draft Chaisson.

they are going to draft a REALLY good player at 16...why would it matter if its an LSU kid?
he'll learn to lose to the Saints like the rest

We also have a shite defensive line constantly, which makes you wonder is it players or our lack to develop them.
He still was our sack leader this year. I think he is worth a 5 mil per year contract as a situational pass rusher, but you also need to have good coaching to get him there. But I’m assuming he thinks he is more valuable than he is.
