If being completely unbiased, its a PUSH between the QBs at this point.

I deleted my previous rant because most of you don't want to read nor care. For the record, I am not a Rodgers hater and I do respect the man. Just not convinced that Brees is no longer in the same class/tier with Aaron Rodgers anymore.

2017 put the league on notice.
Forget #12 (both of them).
2018 is for #9.

Let me hear your thoughts Saints fans.

Nice breakdown, but likely preqching to the choir here. Post to More Sports Board for some more lively debate and discourse.

Pretty solid analysis. Numbers don't lie. I'm biased, but I've always thought there is no better quarter back at quarter backing than Drew Brees, and that's not a statistically invalid argument. Obviously, Rogers is a better runner in the open field, but Brees has never gotten enough praise for how slippery and elusive he is in the pocket, and he's pretty fricking elite at it.

And I agree with Omer, you should post this on the MSB, might rustle some jimmies. If you do, though, you might want to add QB Rtg, TDs, Completion %, etc. for a more complete analysis.

The sports media crowned Rodgers too fast, and unfortunately, it cost Brees the MVP in 2011. He's great, but they elevated him to Manning, Brady, and Brees status after his 2nd year as a starter.

Nah, Rodgers has significantly better stats. You don't know data at all

Head to head matchup comparison seems dumb and meaningless. Common opponents would make a lot more sense. They're obviously very close. Why micro analyze. Brees probably has a slightly better coach.

I wanted to compare the QBs when they actually faced each other for part of my analysis. Common opponents doesn't tell me squat. Brees may have a "slightly" better coach but Rodgers (by an large) has had better defenses to work with and weaker opposing QBs in his division.

stop being a homer. It's okay to admit that Rodgers is the better QB. Doesn't mean that Drew is not a great QB

Maybe you didn't read the part where I stated that "I don't care" if you call me a homer or not. If Rodgers is the obvious better QB, then why is it that an older Drew Brees can stay upright and has started a full season's worth of games more than Rodgers while still taking significantly less sacks. Rodgers is fragile and delicate and Brees is an iron-man by comparison. Don't give me that "its the O-line's fault" excuse either. Drew has done way more with way less.

I see my punctuation mistakes but that's why you chose to post your comment? I didn't realize this was being graded and scrutinized like a term paper. Thanks for the insight teach.

Nice post bro. Enjoyed 60% but then got bored. The part I read was legit though and appreciate your work. They are both all time greats, but Brees has the edge in consistency and killer instinct / leadership.

This D this year could make Brees officially get on the main GOAT list with a second ring.

Theyboth are great QB’s. I like Brees for this team, though.

Came in to post this. I'm the resident Brees defender in my cirlces and I always point to the fact that he's led a top 4 offense some ridiculous % of his career and the top offense 50% of his career. You have to point out the sheer efficiency of Rodgers, though. The dude just does not throw picks. He's got the all time TD/INT ratio by an entire touchdown. 4.01 to Brady's 3.05. Give me Drew all day everyday and I'm a who dat til I die but ARod is an absolute machine.

yeah once you see sack stats are on the list but not INTs you see the complete bias. Both are great QBs though. Too hard to judge QBs who play on different teams and in very different environments. Imagine if Rodgers played all his home games in a dome and not in Wisconsin. I'm gonna go with Rodgers. But I am also biased.

I appreciate your work but I'm thinking the same thing as Wheaux. How does a grown man write down "Bree's" and "Rodger's"?

People need to remember that McCarthys offense is very QB friendly. Remember how it made guys like Aaron Brooks and Matt Flynn look all world. When you get athletes the ball in space, you get better YAC and fewer picks, which translates to rating.

Rogers is fantastic, but he’s doesn’t have the arm talent that Drew has. He might be more patient and better with his feet, but that’s about it.
