This. New Orleans would be a disaster for this kid. Will power is obviously not one of his strong points.

Saints should just cut a deal with LSU...all players go straight from LSU to NOLA....Championship.

If he didn't play for LSU, would you be saying this? He's bad for any locker room, a head case, and with him, it's all about him - not exactly what the Saints are looking for. The Saints tend to lean toward character guys, not thugs who smoke pot.

Typical Lafayette LSU hate post. GTF Over it, ULL will never be lsu and lsu fans can also be a die hard saints fans.

The bottom line is regardless of school, he is the most dynamic playmaker and most instinctive player from the CB slot I have seen in college. It could be a nice transition if he can stay down, especially in a day competing with offenses that spread the field like ATL, GB, etc.

Saints aren't too fond of defenders with the capability of tackling and making plays.

The worst place for Mathieu would be at home in New Orleans.

I'm back and forth on this.

If he goes to Denver or New York, his bad influence friends will follow him and sponge off of him.

If he stays in New Orleans, his family (who is a good influence on him) will be right there to combat his friends bad influences.

Not sure what would be better for him.

Even if your being sarcastic I agree. He'd be great at nickel and you know Spags will use him as a blitzer like he was at LSU

And you can tow the typical "oh he's from LSU, of course LSU fans want him here," but the kid was a damn Heisman finalist last year as a defensive player. He's a turnover machine and we have absolutely no one like that on our squad now.

Pretty sure Warren Sapp failed a drug test before being drafted.

He will have discipline issues wherever he ends up. Is he worth a later round pick? Yes, but I don't expect him to get his shite together anytime soon. Boom or bust for sure.
