Trevor Penning and Malcolm roach scuffle leads to a big brawl in practice today.

This guy is going to be a menace for opposing d lineman. That’s the fourth scuffle he’s gotten into already. Some of the video I saw of the scuffles were just defensemen getting upset he keeps blocking even when the play isn’t near him. But he’s trying to win a starting spot so he plays whistle to whistle.

Playing whistle to whistle is not a problem except for those who can't handle it.

I do think there is a certain line that is drawn. He probably didn’t cross it prior to today, considering it appears he had been given praise for his intensity. But I’m sure after Allen’s remarks today things will take a step back a bit.

He’s been the common denominator in the practice scuffles so far. Just hope it doesn’t cost us during the regular season. Who cares how nasty you are if you’re picking up 15 yrd penalties.

he will be the most penalized Saint in 2022. He needs to get with Ceedey about starting shite, but not getting the penalty.

I think we just need to level set it right now. There's going to be times it will cost us. He will get penalties.
The flip side, is he's going to bully some guys and IMO it will probably be a major net positive.

It was talked about Penning playing nasty like this when he was drafted, but your right he doesn't need to cost the team in a game.

Want to add to the Penning vs Def talk and maybe what we are seeing.
This D unit of ours has been on top of the offense for almost 5 years now folks. They have earned being a top 5 D in the entire league.
Last two years no one on the O side talked sh!t or did sh!t and the D has feasted.
Well fellas on the D. Couple of Sheriffs have arrived back in camp. QB with a arm. MT back and perhaps a beast of a O lineman and a new prime signal caller.
Maybe our O can give the D a run for their money and their jobs just got a bit harder
