This is self-fulfilling prophecy. The common thread through most of the pre-draft Penning discussion was how he plays with a mean streak. I think maybe he's trying to live up to that reputation.

Yeah I didn’t see anything cheap from Penning other than he kept going a little longer than he needed to. He was always facing his opponent so it’s not like he was picking dudes who aren’t looking off the pile.
