Looked solid in the first half, he had 4 receptions for 80 yards. But was none existent in the 2nd half. Also, Deonte Harris reminds me of Tyreek Hill but isn’t used or targeted nearly enough. We have fire power but the ball isn’t getting to these players

I was impressed with Smith's ability after the catch. That's an aspect of his game I wasn't really expecting. He will be a solid WR2 or WR3 moving forward.

My biggest concern is Sanders. He's been pretty much invisible through the first two games.

I’d like to see Harris is KC’s offense and I bet you wouldn’t be laughing lol. If not tyreek hill, I still think he too much of a playmaker to not get the ball more

I think MT has to be playing for Sanders to be productive. The offense will be more productive once MT is back.

No. But I will play along... if he was in KCs offense he would have one of the strongest arms in the league and a playbook that takes tons deep shots.

Brees just doesn't have the ability to do that anymore.

After seeing how well Smith was playing and how much Sanders was struggling; they probably changed their focus to Smith. Basically, a similar adjustment to what the Saints should have done for Waller.

His dropped pass killed a drive.

Smith is a bull with the ball in his hands and run blocking. One of his catches he ran through an arm tackle and then threw another guy to the ground as he went out of bounds. I’ve always heard the team wants to use him to stretch the field but what I saw last night makes me think he’s better suited as a Michael Thomas-lite kind of guy who does his best work over the middle and closer to the LOS.

He blocks like a monster so I see why CSP likes him.

Was Sanders struggling, or was he blanketed because he was the primary and Sean Payton is smart enough to know that he can distribute the ball around? That was the takeaway I had.

He had a few drops, ball was late and behind him but still should have caught it, and wasn't getting separation.

Yeah Sanders and Malcolm Jenkins have been a waste of 16 mil.
Especially Malcolm Jenkins

As far as Sanders some of the blame has to be on drew and hit arm

He took that one hit over the middle and dropped ball and never showed up again in that game.

Drew Brees isn't the Drew Brees of 2009, his arm isn't as strong and lively as it was back then, age does that. In order to get fast WR's like Sanders and Harris going you've got to get the damn ball to them quickly and also down the field, and Brees' arm isn't strong enough anymore to do that.

getting separation.

This is such an important skill/talent that is often overlooked by fans and doesn’t require them to be straight line fast (it didn’t translate as well as hoped, but Josh Reed could separate like nobody’s business at LSU and he was a stocky, 5’10,” 4.6 40 guy).

Thomas obviously has it. But maybe someone who knows this better than I can speak to whether it’s more of an innate ability or something that can be learned.

It's an innate ability, man, some have it and some don't, I played this game all of my young life and I thought I didn't have enough size while in college playing and I quit. Been regretting that my whole life because they would have helped me put the weight and strength on to take the pounding, but it is what it is. That was back in the the 80's, but I could separate from people fast with swift moves and I wasn't even using the 4.3 speed I was blessed with, it's just knowing how to move and get separation to answer you.
