He's a great coach, but he's a regular season savant, postseason puckering butthole.

I'd rather try to trade him for some significant assets (Watson?) and see if the next coach can display some balls when it ACTUALLY F uCK ING Counts

You know this kind of thing was said about andy reid in philly a few years back. That worked out well for them. The chargers said the samething about schottenheimer back in the day too. That worked out well for them as well

This board never ceases to amaze.

Why don't we hurry up and trade Brees before he retires as well?

He's a sure fire HOF QB, I's sure we can get 2 1st rounders for him

One of these things is not like the other one...

Payton has compiled a pretty fantastic regular season record here in NOLA, and brought this franchise onto the level of the "blue bloods" in 21st century NFL.

But he did it with arguably the true GOAT QB, and only won when it mattered when said GOAT QB could single-handedly make magic and set completion % and consecutive completion records.

This organization is now one that top-shelf coaching candidates would like to be in charge of. Payton's value is at an all-time high. I'm not saying trade him for peanuts, Oakland got 2 1's, and Watson is pissed in Houston and looking like an absolutely toxic situation that likely won't be fixed. No one wants to coach in Houston, so one way for them to be sure they get a good one is to trade a valuable (disenfranchised) asset for one.

that same coach went 8-1 with backup QBs the past 2 years.

In the REGULAR SEASON.

My "thesis" for moving on from Sean is that his cajones disappear in January.

His timid gameplans the last 3 years for sure, and arguably the first half in Minny 4 years ago have looked like Carl Lewis returned from the grave to haunt us.

Brees' arm definitely is less than it used to be, but a downfield shot doesn't have to be 50 yards in the air. Where the hell is the aggressivnenss to throw 20-30 yards? You've got "one of the best" OLs and plenty of weapons. You can't play like you think you can score? Pathetic. Only explanation is his butthole puckers and he decides the "safe" gameplan is the best one. Not when the other team is playing for keeps.

So you think the guy who did an onside kick in the super bowl, Let taysom throw a bomb last year in the playoffs, and ran a trick play with our backup qb to get us a td last week is timid? Hot take

Those draft picks wont mean dick if we dont have a capable coach to be able to utilize them.

I cant believe with as many coaching problems around the league people think we can just easily replace him.

Can we stop with this? Brees is one of the GOAT QBs of all time. He's not THE GOAT QB of all time.

Why would we trade a coach who is top 5 in the league and also is probably salivating at getting back to an offense that can push the ball down the field?

I would trade every player first.

I think Payton finally gets what he wants. An offseason with the Saints in which he can reinvent the playbook to take shots down the field with his starting QB.

Something he hasn’t been able to do in 4 years.

They keep Winston and Harris will turn into Tyrek Hill.

I’m guessing your a troll because nobody is stupid enough to get rid of Payton.

I guess there are better guys on the market:
Matt Patricia
Adam Gase
Jeff Fischer

I’d be willing to give up a first round pick if you never post again.

Eric Bienemy will not be a good head coach. He is to the chiefs what Carmichael is to the saints...
