There's no need to restructure him, Kamara has leverage in that there are no other known RB's on the roster that can legit be called #1 backs. (Yet)

But the Saints have the most leverage in that there is very little to NO market for 30 yo RB's not named Christian McCaffrey.

Simple... If Loomis shoots the Saints in the dick with another large dead money contract on an aging vet he should be fired.

bingo
tired of this organization delaying the inevitable when it comes down to our contracts situation

A defacto owner, which Loomis is nowadays in the organization, is not firing himself.

Because is accomplishments are those of a part time gadget player. That he accounts for such and such percentage of the offense is a indictment of the offense overall

Right. We are talking about Hill, though. He only has 219 touches in those two seasons. He's done all he was asked and some.

Yes, the offense and his usage is shitty.

His contract is ridiculous for his use/ability

i have said it all along. Taysom is a rich man's Guido Merkins. Except Guido was the back up punter and was the holder for Benny Ricardo.

I don't see Tay Tay holding for....whoever it is the saints have as kicker.

I disagree with this.
Carr is being paid like an above average starting quarterback and I have seen big money wasted on players a lot more useless than Taysom Hill.

Is that above average lol

That is what I am saying. He is an above average quarterback when he is healthy and is being paid accordingly. That is why I don’t think the contract is that bad. And I have no problem with Taysom’s contract. He is a good weapon if used properly.

He isn’t getting any younger though

Taysom is worth his contract just for the flexibility he gives the coaches on game day with who to activate alone.

Bumping this thread just to remind everyone that we're always top 10 every year in dead money and in highest salary cap. Does anyone actually think Loomis should keep his job?

But a guy like Kyler Murray isn't even on the fricking list? He's owed 71.5mil over the next 2 years alone. You can't even touch his contract until 2026 as well. He's played 19 games the past 2 years,

He blew out his knee in 2022 and missed the first half+. He also only 27 (he’s actually younger than Burrow). He has not looked good this year so far no doubt but there is potential there. Carr was over 30 and nothing but mediocre. the Cardinals did draft him so keeping your guy is a little different then signing a free agent plus I don’t think the Cardinals were in cap hell when they did his contract

All because he blew out his knee doesn't mean the contract can't be one of the worst currently.

At the time, giving him that contract was still considered bad. Its like Jacksonville giving TL his current contract, all because you drafted him --- doesn't mean he should be the HIGHEST paid player in the league.

Carr isn't even being paid top 10 QB money with us.

First of all quibbling over which contract is “worse” is the ultimate cope

You are treating the contracts like they happen in a vacuum. It’s different resigning guys you drafted especially 1 overall like Murray and Lawrence. What exactly is Jacksonville supposed to do?they did win a playoff game 2 years ago and hung with KC in the Division round. Last year they looked like they were in control of the division but fell apart late and finished 1 game back. If you let him walk or trade him they are back to square 1 starting over and risk alienating not just the fans but the rest of the team. Who are gonna bring that’s better? Carr? or draft someone and hope?

Carr is one of the worst contracts not just because of the amount but because it was a team already way over the crap and had an aging roster and numerous bad contracts already. In trying to win a bad division the Saints made a bad situation worse and are stuck with a mediocre at best older QB. Jacksonville may be a coaching change and some improvements on D away from being back in contention

Those contracts are not really bad. I’d say the Cam extension might be the worse, he’s almost unplayable right now.

Loomis's method of kicking the can down the road will end up being a 3 year disaster.

Agreed. Cam's contract looking terrible. Loomis has a habit of holding on to and overpaying aging veterans.

I'd argue Cam's deal is the worst on the team
