Good. I hope they pick 28 QBs and then Saints pick 29th.

If mayo eater can go so can Hooker. While QB prognostication is the most difficult art in all of sports...I think he is the second best qb in the draft.

Hard to tell with Hooker. The Tennessee offense was very different than what most NFL teams run. Makes Hooker and Hyatt harder to grade, imo.

Perhaps. What I looked at was how he handled a collapsing pocket because that's the NFL every play and he does it well. Can make his progressions. Has soft touch on short throws and a arm for the long ones. Played the big games. But he succeeded in the most competitive conference in all of football.

He probably should get picked before the other QB's besides Young but he's coming off the ACL injury and is a few years older than the other prospects.

didn't put up bad numbers at Virginia Tech running a different offense than what Tennessee does.

I think if he was 22 he’d be being talked up a lot more. It’s hard investing big in guys that are a bit older. Look at the improvements Lawrence made from year 1-2 and he’s only like 22-23 years old.

Everyone is making a big deal about Stroud's low S2 score, but Hooker also had a fairly low score (42 I think) and he's shooting up boards all of a sudden.

Very little to like about Hooker as a pro prospect. Whatever, as long as we don’t draft him.

Go look at the game tying drive against Bama. They either ran the ball or he was bailed out on penalties. He looked like the exact opposite of a clutch performer. He also was pretty bad against the collapsing pocket in the UGA game and pressure made him pretty inaccurate.

He’s not good under pressure, I don’t know where that idea even came from.

quote:

Hooker’s 43.7 passing grade when pressured ranked 61st among FBS quarterbacks in 2022, and while the stat can be unstable, he also earned a 48.6 mark in 2021, with his 65 sacks taken over the last two seasons tied for the sixth most in the FBS. Hooker’s 64 sacks taken on 196 pressured dropbacks over the span equates to a 33% sack rate when pressured, the second-worst mark in the country over the past two seasons.

He simply does not take 3-5 step drops
quote:

A significant amount of Hooker’s throws in 2022 were off zero- (catch-plant-throw) or one-step drops. The offense had a minimal amount of three- or five-step shotgun principles (14.1 percent of the time, per Sports Info Solutions).

He played in a gimmick offense. He is 25 and coming off an ACL injury. He is an average athlete. He has adequate arm strength and accuracy.

Nothing about him is elite or even high-end. He’s a 3rd or 4th round prospect at best.
