Having a game with the first ever tropical storm hitting the LA area at exactly the time of kickoff. He doesn’t even bother to move the game time up or reschedule/cancel all so they can get those ticket sales and TV ratings. Not at all saying this is a bad storm. Growing up in Louisiana that would be a normal day but you know traffic on the freeways in LA is going to be a disaster and SoFi Stadium is an open air stadium with no walls that rain blows in easily. In the Georgia-TCU game they took several people to the hospital for slip and fall injuries because the stadium concourse and stands got soaked and were slippery. The Saints aren’t playing any starters supposedly this game so really this is more of a risk to the Chargers who are expected to play their starters due to the new OC trying to install the offense.

Plus saints will likely have to stay an extra night due to air travel delays
They can’t fly out in a tropical storm

If we changed game times in Los Angeles because of traffic, games would never occur

There are myriad factors that affect the decision. I can’t second guess
It without knowing more.

No they won’t. LAX isn’t going to close. By 10pm the chance of rain is down to 30%

I'm on a plane leaving LAX as I type this. It's a mild rainstorm at best and this storm was a nothing burger

The decision was that this was the only game the NFL had scheduled for Sunday so they damn well were going to play it.

Meh. This is not a real hurricane. They don’t know what a real hurricane is over there. LSU has played games while much greater threats than this were going on.

No. He has no shame. He gets paid...

According to sources, Roger Goodell made $128 million over the last two years. Even by commissioner standards, that money is quite the eye-popper. Therefore he is expected to earn $63.9 million in 2023,

This storm is the capacity to be catastrophic for LA. For us, no big deal, but it could potentially dump 1/2yrs worth of rain on LA in a matter of hours. Their earth is nothing like ours. This could create mud slides, drainage issues, and severe flooding.

It’s a PS game, Roger. Be better.

2.68 inches of rain is half a years worth for Los Angeles?

Shouldn’t that area getting a shitload of rain be a a GOOD thing? The Hoover Dam has never been so low before hell you’d think it would be a blessing. This is the equivalent of a moderate Louisiana thunderstorm though but if you saw the news you’d think it was the apocalypse.
