What would make anyone think the players on the team give that much of a shite about next season to tank and underperform on purpose this season

Well… the players would have to be good enough to spoil tanking for us this season and I don’t see that as an option. You’re talking about 6-8 guys total that fit in this category but it takes 22 to win games.

On another note, about the suggestion of "another brown bag season," just how many "brown bag seasons" have the Saints actually had in their history?

Doesn’t matter “how many” seasons there have been. The fact that there was at least one season allows anyone to say there could be “another” brown bag season.

I appreciate your optimism. Let me know if there is anything else I can clarify for you.

You've equated losing with tanking. I guess we're doing that, then sure.

You being serious? We don't have the best oline. We don't have a top 5 oline.

Or you can be a little optimistic. This team should be well rested for the back half of the season for once

I’ve been outta the loop for awhile, but just seeing all these recent happenings. I always feared this to be our reality once Drew hung it up.

Shoot me straight guys...it’s gonna be a long season won’t it?

This is a bad take. We easily have a top 5 offensive line. We are probably top 3. Only units I would put above us is Indy and the browns

NE TB. We have 2 studs but as a whole they aren't a top 5. We don't have a top 32 guard on the team. We had a top 5 oline 3-4 season ago. We struggle in shortag

It won’t be tanking by choice, the blows keep piling up and it’s not looking like a good season. Without all the suspensions and injuries I had this teams floor at 10 wins

Sean Payton has proven he can win games with sub par talent especially on the offensive end. I think 7-9 is the floor for this team

Here’s one of many websites that disagree

Also, PFF & Rotowire have us at #4 while The Huddle has us at #3.

I was implying that there weren't a lot of easy choices in the top 10 picks of this draft, and then later commented on how Stingley and Thibodeaux seemed like the safest picks in the draft.

I looked at some mocks and other names I saw were Evan Neal (OT from Bama) and Kair Elam (CB from UGA).

frick tanking. Good organizations don’t tank in the NFL. Evaluate talent, retool the roster, and above all, stay competitive.

Go out and win 7-8 games this year. But frick tanking. Teams that stop trying are abysmal. You have to completely rebuild team culture as well.

The stars really have to align to tank. I think we are in a position to tank, but Im not sure that Joe Burrow/Andrew Luck talent is there on the other side of the equation.

How does the board feel about Sam Howell?

Sadly, yes. Blow it up. Trade our best older players for picks.
