People to need to realize that the Boutte we saw during his freshman and sophomore years is gone.

The injury definitely took something out of him. He’s a shell of his former self and will probably never be able to succeed in the NFL.

I see one or two problems with this group.

Addition by subtraction may solve the problem.

Pains me greatly to say this but I am not interested in him unless we get him very late in the draft. He hasn't shown much recently and his testing wasn't good enough to show that he has a high floor or ceiling.

Did you miss his 53 yard run and catch vs Georgia?

LINK

Talent there he could be great if thats the speed you getting in the NFL.

He had a bad year but its guys who had nowhere near the success he had drafted before him.

His 9 game stretch of 1036 yards and 12 touchdowns showed me enough.

You don’t suddenly become a bad player

Yes you can become a bad player instantly if you have a bad injury

I would take Boutte 7th round or UDFA. I wouldn’t take him any earlier. I don’t think he’s the player he was his freshman and sophomore years at LSU.

The combine was very telling on Boutte. He would have been better off not participating. Not sure he can regain his athleticism pre-injury. It is a shame but reality. We may have put too much blame on JD throughout the season and not enough of Boutte’s loss of athleticism for his lack of production.

Boutte doesn't seem like a team player.

Boutte sucks and will not be drafted.

He'll be a FA and end up on a practice squad bc he doesn't play special teams.

Book it.

I still think that’s exactly the type of pick you make in the mid-late rounds. A guy who is a potential star. It’s not like you are passing on sure fire starters this late in the draft anyway.
