The problem for me isn’t just the politics. The NFL just doesn’t put a good product out right now. All the rules favor the offense, so defenses are handcuffed, and then the officials are absolutely terrible with no accountability when they screw up.

It’s the first time in my life where I felt I was being trolled by fans of the same team as mine

Same... and to be honest I think the NFL did a pretty good job of keeping it muted and mostly out of sight. Not at all like the NBA which is so offputting I couldn't even watch playoff games.

Dude, like your absolutely atrocious pre-game thread about Drew Brees and his family? Accountability would have you ashamed of your behavior or banned. But here you are, waving your finger at others like some holier than thou prick.

I was also fine with the telecast and surprised by the lack of politics. I did notice at the end that Payton had a Breonna Taylor mask on. It just seems really a shame some of them can't just represent NO or La for 3 freaking hours.

I'll take you at your word because I've been drinking and its been non-stop disgusting threads today. I apologize for the lash out in that case.

My lost in the weeds point is if you don't want to watch, don't watch. But the people posting absolutely disgusting things about Brees, his wife, and the fanbase need to step away and gain some perspective.

As you should. I don’t understand why people allow others to steal their happiness. I love football. frick their politics. I just want to win.

I think the NFL knows a significant amount of people don't want to see it.

Basically, "Republicans buy shoes too."

They always show extra coverage and go to the late game right before it starts so you don't see the anthem from that game. It's pretty funny morons spent months melting about Brees kneeling and hearing Lift Every Voice and neither was on the broadcast.

Which side exactly are the morons? And you sure it wasn't a collective "melt" like the flap over his views of the anthem months ago and the Jacob Brown name taped on the helmets?
Which side has been over the top running things into the ground?
"Morons", huh? That's interesting.

Good for you bud. I didn't watch, wouldn't have been able to anyways as I got out on the lake much later than anticipated. Had a long time ago bet with coworker who is from Tampa so won 4 quartz bags of white perch, also caught 14 catfish and 22 bream today.

I don't plan on watching but I know many of the posters on here are great people and posted on this board for years even though not well known here. Also, friend of mine's dad who is a big Saints fan, he's actually related distantly to Devery Henderson iirc was able to watch it and doesn't have much longer to live, will probably be his last Saints game. Glad to see him go out with a Saints win.
