-Saw enough of Rattler to know he’s not QB1. But, worth keeping as a solid backup
-Massive hits on the rookie class. Shough and Banks are both top 10 rookies in the league and top at their position. I think we’re all high on Sanker, Neal, Riley, and Stutsman too
-Cam and Demario haven’t fallen off the cliff yet. 1 year deals going forward
-Breakout, concussion free season for Olave
-Emergence of Vele
-Kellen Moore is at least a solid, good coach.
-Still drafting in the top 10, not locked in to any position
-Tyler James Shough is our future

The PE for olave scares me a little bit. depends if we're calling it provoked or unprovoked, it can change his entire career and risk involved.

Love Olave but with the concussions and now this.. it could screw our cap if he has to retire

If I had hoped for a 5 out of 10 season this was a 9.

All offseason we heard about how bad that the Saints were going to suck and how they have one of the worst rosters in the league.

I said on here that if they beat their win total (5) then that would at least be a good sign moving forward.

They've won 6 and MAYBE can win today but even if they don't, give a lot of credit to Kellen Moore. It's looked bad at times this year but his message to the team has not been lost and they are playing hard for him.

Defense was a lot better than we thought they'd be.

But Kellen Moore should be commended for getting this team to continue to play hard. The Dennis Allen stink appears to have left the building.

Those games against Seattle and buffalo feel like they were played in a different season. Bumbling that last falcon game after the bye is the only real disappointment. Make up for it today

Hopefully a smooth offseason

The first falcons game was the only real bummer of a game. The Seahawks was a friggin mess but kind of flukey too.

Revenge SZN today

Definitely need to bring in a veteran QB as backup, put SR on practice squad

That was a very frustrating/strange game. If there is one thing that KM HAS to improve on…..it’s starts to the game. The scripted first 15 always seem out of sync with in game situations. It’s the most disappointing part of his first season, but hopefully the more he and Shough are around each other….it will smooth out

They have to clear waivers before making it to the practice squad. Thats how we scooped Taysom from Green Bay. They tried to stash him on their PS like we weren’t watching preseason films. Anyway, Tthat’s a sure fire way for another team to grab their backup QB from us.

I think the offensive system is better than solid, good coach. 37 years starting old veterans are bought in and playing hard in week 18 of a losing season, but optimism is through the roof. Then the rest of the coaching staff is very solid. And defensively, keep Staley as long as possible.

Loomis is still the GM though. His recent maneuvers to accelerate winning have all been major fails, and would have gotten any other GM fired.

So let’s hope he lets it grow organically vs what his track record says.

Breakout, concussion free season for Olave

I am REALLY torn on what the team should do with Olave. On one hand, he has become more consistent the more time he’s played with Shough, and he seems to be bought in to Shough.

On the other hand, he still STRUGGLES with contested catches (one which cost us a win in Miami). While he didn’t have any concussions, it’s mainly because he goes down if he’s anywhere near a defender. Now he has this blood clot issue (which in some instances with athletes becomes recurring).

I am more ok with him staying on a contract here now, than I was 2 months ago………BUT is it smart to give this guy 30M/yr with ALL of these factors?

I guess I don’t understand the severity of what happened. I know it’s serious, but would it really threaten his career at this point? It was caught before anything bad happened thankfully.

I think he’s learned how to play with his propensity to get hurt, he plays a little like Doug Baldwin. He goes down before taking a big hit which I will take from him if it means he stays on the field. He’s top 5-10 in every stat this year, him and Shough have a great rapport, I think Olave is rejuvenated by Shoughs emergence.

How so? He only has one year left on his deal. It’s not like Ram who had 3 years left in his deal at top level money.

Agree on all. Hopefully we don’t over correct and just have another roster building draft with a ton of picks who continue to build our depth and backbone of this roster.

I don’t even think it would be a failure if we don’t improve significantly in the win column next year given how much we still need. The league is obviously going to get film on Shough…but man if he takes the next step before he even really has a great cast around him it’s wheels up for the next decade.

From what I understand... depending on what the doctors find... he could be a high risk of it reoccurring

I think it's possibly something to do with genetics maybe?

If it's just a one off... that's fine... but if he is tagged as a potential relapse then his career is done

Pretty sure it happened recently with a NBA player

Assuming he gets a clean bill of health on the blood clots, I think we all need to come to grips with the fact that the Saints will be paying Chris Olave $30mm+/year.

I don’t love that but it is what it is. If he matches this years numbers going forward with Shough at QB under his rookie deal and we don’t have any other massive contracts(which we shouldn’t), it’s not terrible
