Mcmath is super straight line speed.

We need more than a racey mcmath.

Honestly wish he came back to LSU next season. He’s been overshadowed by some legendary receivers.

I've brought his name up a couple times, I think he would be a great fit.

We don't really need more than a McMath. We have Mike Thomas, Kamara, Trautman, Taysom Hill (if we're being honest) going out to catch a pass. Those are going to be your primary targets.
You have Jameis Winston at QB, who has a strong arm.

If you add a McMath... that's 6'3 210, with 4.3 speed. Is he great? No. Can he run a deep post and stretch the defense, and make holes for the guys listed above? Absolutely. And with his size, you don't worry about him breaking the first time you do throw to him and there's a safety closing.

And really, in a way he fits better than an elite prospect. Do you think Chase or Waddle would be satisfied being a deep decoy, while Thomas gets 100 catches?
But I bet Racey would, and would be happy to get targeted 1-2 times a game.

I'm not looking at the actual player, I'm looking at the potential role... dude fits almost all the prototype requirements.

I’m on board with McMath. No one is likely to be an instant impact at WR right now.

But McMath can play special teams and has crazy size and speed.

He can make the team on ST and see if he develops as a WR.

I’m hoping we can trade up into the 5th and go get Cade Johnson

So one great wide receiver, one great running back, one unproven tight end, and a gadget player. I don't really think that's a recipe for a ton of success.

We don't have the super accurate short passer anymore. We need some wide receivers

I totally agree that a legit straight line speed guy would be very beneficial at this point.

They have probably 1 roster spot open at WR. It’s not great but they like all these dudes.

If I had to bet they add a veteran around training camp that can be the WR2 or 3

I think Sean Payton knows how to run an offense; I don't think he cares about "position".
Unproven TE, that's a guy with a whole lot of upside, who did come on late last year.

A gadget player- Taysom was a pretty reliable receiver when targeted, who then becomes a fricking beast loose in the secondary. He's big, fast, and loves contact.

A great RB- Kamara's about as much a gadget player as Taysom is, he just isn't a risk to line up at QB. But he IS a risk to split out wide, and you absolutely don't want to put a linebacker on him. Really would want no less than a nickel.
And in all honesty, you could split Kamara out, leave Taysom at RB, and the play isn't tipped off.

I feel like people are forgetting about Callaway who shows potential number 2 receiver upside, Trequan, who gives you 4-6 surprisingly good games a year, Deonte, who was getting a larger role in the offense every week he was healthy, and other guys with size Juwan and Lil Jordan who werent half bad in limited reps.

I think be will be fine on pass catchers. Also, we always seem to pick up 1-2 solid udfa WR’s with potential.

How many times we’ve gone into weeks the past 5 years we have had just enough healthy receivers to play the game?

WR is like the one position the Saints “like” a ton of players but they either can’t catch or stay on the field.

Was it Brandon Coleman that sat around on the roster but couldn’t catch worth a crap? Meredith. Carr. Kirk wood. List goes on and on.
