But if you end up with nothing in return, is it really a win? Latt on a whole is still better than our current starters. He's just not worth his contract anymore.

The problem is, that Kool-Aid plays like the current Marshon and not the Pro Bowl level/Rookie of the Year Lattimore of the past.

Does that mean he's clamping down Evans??? Even in Latt's worst seasons, he still contained Evans when Evans did not have Brady

Marshawn Lattimore is done.

They got off the buss throwing right at him. AT least the first 4 passes went his way.

We will likely never see him do it again

I disagree. If we are truly a bottom 5-8 team then there's no way we decide to pay Olave 30+mil > trading him.

We can still trade Olave/ Taysom and end up with something like a 2nd, 4th, and our 4th back from Den while saving a ton of potential future salary.

Read something about trading Brandon Cooks for a 5th.

Cooks for a 5th
Olave/ 5th/ 5th for a 2nd/ 3rd
Taysom for a 4th

End up with (1) 1st, (2) 2nds, (2) 3rds, (1) 4th, and save 15mil this year to roll over and $20mil next year. If Demario/ Cam retire with these moves then we could have like +50mil to make big moves. If Shough shows enough to be our guy for the foreseeable future we could be in a great spot.

Slo's right. The FO got it right. Keep it up.
Can't wait to see Sanker play. Dude got 4 years of work all over the secondary in Virginia. We may have something by mid season.

it saddened me that they did a salary cut of sorts on taysom's contract in lieu of a 1 year extension.

Football is a tough business. Taysom is pretty much done and everyone knows it. Saints have to do the smartest financial thing they can

well i don't have any proof of such thing despite people wanting to regurgitate this line into existence. We'll see when he comes back i guess.

yes extend him a reasonable cost of an extra year and it would have helped spread current hits out. Taysom should retire a saint just as much as anyone.

For sure but at the same time its completely in the realm of possibilities. The only thing that is wishful thinking would be flipping Olave and ending up with a 2nd and a 3rd.

We can certainly end up with a 2nd, 4th, and 5th by trading Olave, Taysom, and Cooks. And those 3 guys are pretty much the top 3 players on the trade block for several reasons. DD/ Cam very easily could retire at the end of the year. The only wishful thinking would be that we end up with the extra 3rd and that we actually make the trades. Not really as crazy as you'd think.

If he wants to retire a Saint I wouldn't deny it.
But we are no.1 in the league in dead money.
