We shouldn't care about his short arms if he's best available. The reality is that he shouldn't be BPA with atleast (1) of Bailey/ Styles/ Downs/ Delane available.

The absolute worst case scenario is Bain/ Tate as our best available and I think that's the only situation where we seriously may trade back.

This also means that both of the Cardinals/ Browns either trade their picks or draft defense instead of OL/ WR/ RB. Very unlikely scenario. Even if the Cardinals don't take the top OL someone will before us.

This draft will depend on Cardinals/ Giants/ Browns.

Giants apparently like every top 10 player in the draft and are interested in trading back. ARI/ CLE could easily set up the most likely scenario's with both going OL.

Bailey would be the pick if we traded up. People on here are going to downvote you because they want so bad for The Saints to trade down. What they don't realize is the only time somewhat recently we traded down was like 20 years ago and it was in the 2nd. These idiots think its a legitimate possibility that we trade down, lol.

Hes a 4-3 DE.

We run a 3-4. Styles, Bailey, Reese, Downs, and Delane fit better.

They did a mock on SiriusXM NFL Radio this morning, and the analyst took Lemon even though Bain was on the board. And this was his exact point: Bain is 4-3 end while the Saints play 3-4.

How do yall think the Saints went from a 4-3 to 3-4 and kept the same lineman lol

We had little choice?
Or did I miss the TD plan.

The Saints run multiple fronts.

sometimes they run a four or five man front.

they aren't like one of those throwback defenses that are a true 3-4 defense like what Dick Lebeau and the Steelers ran back in the early 2000s

sometimes even six-man fronts in that Penny defense

I think that came from Vic Fangios tree??

I could be wrong about that

You're correct. I think. Staley runs a unique blend. My point was that his changes were not happening overnight.

actually, I think that Penny defense is when they run the five-man front

and then they'll be one linebacker and five DBS

I don't know if it's going to be the first or second round pick, but I would be shocked if they didn't get somebody to play in the front seven with one of those two selections

Correct. He’s at a leverage disadvantage on every snap. He's going against the best of the best every week in the NFL; this isn’t college anymore. How often do we see superstar college players fail in the NFL? It’s way more than they succeed. Bain is a big time risk prospect

From everything, I read the short arms will cause him problems when it comes to leverage against players with longer arms, they will own him

We have been in the Top 10 (4) times in the last 20 years.

Pick #2: Reggie Bush (board favorite)
Pick #7: Sedrick Ellis (board favored not favorite)
Pick #9: Kelvin Banks (indifferent but expectable)
Pick #8: ?????

Y'all base everything off draft statistics that are outliers or completely irrelevant to our current draft position.

The chance we land either a board favorite or someone highly expected is around 90%.

The only unexpected outcomes are going to be due to warped expectations from fans that actually think we go offense at #8 under any capacity.

Trade this year's first and next year's first for a player that is friends with Weaver even though he is undersized and not athletic.

Yates: We wanted bold, so how about this: Miami edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. will go outside the top 12 picks. Bain is an exceptional player, and there is no shortage of teams with a pass rush need to pick in the first 12 spots. But he is going to be an outlier in the first round, as the first edge rusher with sub-31-inch arms to get picked there. There are some scouts who are skeptical of a team taking an outlier super early. The teams that could take a chance are the Saints, Chiefs and Bengals (Nos. 8-10, respectively), but there's a chance he's still there in the teens.

I agree, he fits better in a 4-3, I dont see him as a fit in our defense at all, I wouldn't take him at 8
