If you define cost as the use the draft pick given by the league, i.e. smith cost us a third and Leonard cost us a fourth and clapp cost us a 7th etc, then yes Davenport cost two first.
If you define cost as payment over what the league gives you, then Davenport only cost one first.

Time for the season to start cuz this argument is getting old. If he plays to potential, it's a great pick regardless of your definition of "cost." If he sucks, then it's a bad pick .

This is more semantics than anything but bottom line is to move up to 15 we swapped the 27th, and traded a 1st and a 5th.
Toss out the 5th
We get Davevport
They get the 27th who turned out to be Penny AND a 1st round next year.
Again forget the 5th. We get 1 player drafted in the first round, they get 2 players drafted in the first round.
I don’t care what we call it. They get 2 1st round picks we get 1.

Yep.
Had the same argument with a falcon fan.
He wanted it sound like it was a bad deal.
We gave up 1 first round pick to get a position of need. The missing link in our defense.
That pick will be the 32nd pick in next years draft.
