Anyone who brings that up I just say, ok say they get both calls right? We have the ball first and goal with at least a minute left needing a TD to go to the Super Bowl. I like those odds.

I seen one today go so far as to say that if they were up by 4 then Gunn somehow wouldnt have caught his pass.

They bring up that facemask, but the Saints missed out on multiple penalties starting with the hit to Hill, a face mask on Brees, a roughing on Brees, plus several others. They all get forgotten because of the egregiousness of the 1:49 PI and the PI in OT.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong ..... didn’t this facemask happen on the drive with the phantom timeout?

The Saints stopped the the Rams on a 3rd and 3. The Rams were granted a timeout despite no footage of anyone calling one. The announcers were confused about what was going on. On the do over — they got a big gain?

If the above is true then ——> Face mask penalty should’ve never happened because the Rams shouldn’t have had the ball unless they went for it deep in their own territory.

Didn’t they stop penalizing Inadvertent face masks that don’t make the tackle.

It’s actually a non issue. And nothing compared to the PI

It’s the only thing Rams fans and Saints haters have to latch on to to try to salvage a legitimate win.

I believe the defender has to turn the head of the ball carrier or bring him down. His head turned slightly but it’s borderline. Not a great no-call to hang their hats on, but it’s all they have.

Simply ask them if they want to trade.

You take our no PI call on 3rd down?
We will take your no face mask call?
Saints in superbowl 10x out of 10.

I don't care about missed calls like that.

The Rams had 3 helmet-helmet calls go missed.. That more than makes up for a minor accidental facemask.

The no call on pass interference was so ridiculous.. The guy was clearly and admittedly.. lighting the receiver up on purpose as a last ditch effort to prevent a TD.. he was literally taking the penalty out of desperation in exchange for no TD.

never mind the refs wouldnt call blatant holds on the rams o-line and even a defensive holding call get missed.. but yet they called a critical holding on the saints that stalled an entire drive in the 2nd half..

never mind all that.. the refs missed that no call ON PURPOSE. you have to. They NEED TO BE FIRED, period. I am still waiting for them to be fired.

HOW DO YOU HAVE TWO REFS FROM L.A. officiating in this game?? How?? I don't care how professional they are.. even the slightest of bias can cause them to ignore a call late.

The Rams fans were crying all week long about a ref in the game because they felt he missed a spot.. a spot.. a spot.. on a fake fourth down.. Imagine if they were robbed at home of a Super Bowl because two refs from Louisiana ignored a blatant call.

Of course the Saints get flagged on a similar play, 100x's out of 100. I know this because they called the holding penalty on us in a game where they weren't calling anything.

The “face mask” is borderline AT BEST. All they show is still shots and the fingers don’t even grasp the mask. Live action shot shows his head barely moving. He was a ball carrier at that point as well, not an in the pocket

One was blatantly obvious, the facemask was missed by majority of fans watching.

Tim,

Would you ask Bobby something for me?

Is he worried someone may end up making him shut his mouth? A multi-billion dollar industry DGAF. He could end up “having a heart attack” if they get sick of his shite.

It wasn't called because it wasn't a penalty. If you watch the play live Goff dips and when he does Anzalone is no longer in position to hit him square. Anzalones hand grazes Goffs facemask and he never closes his hand knowing where his hand is. Anzalone keeps going and Goff gets two extra yards. When the NFL got rid of the 5yd flag every facemask was 15 yards. After realizing how absurd that was they wrote verbiage in the rule for the penalty that allowed for inadvertent contact on a runner as long as the defender does not attempt to bring down the player by grasping the facemask. Anzalone was textbook. He knew his position and what it would mean. He looks back sees he has help and removes himself from the play. The only "missed" call that favored the Saints was the missed facemask on Cooks, but the Rams scored a TD on that drive making the penalty moot.

The Goff face mask is never shown at full speed only it stills or in slow motion to allow one to infer that Goffs head was spun around. Just like when Higbee shoved the defender in the back and he has to jump over the Rams player on the ground. They only show the still because it allows one to infer the defender his stomping on the Rams player when he in fact makes an athletic move to jump him and straddle his helmet to not so so. Just like the times the Saints snapped the ball .01 seconds after the play clock hit zero just like the Rams did on several occasions as well.

The most egregious missed calls were Suh shoving Brees after the ball was down field, when Apple was held when he was about to come clean on Goff, when Brockers drove an elbow into Brees back on the Suh/Fowler sack, the holding penalty on Robey-Coleman on the third down play, the DPI/helmet-to-helmet on Coleman, and the hands to the face on Brees in OT. If two of those calls are made Saints win going away. As an NFL fan calls are missed. One could expect to be upset but understand human error on any combination of those being missed.

The fact of the matter is that refs allow more to slide.in the playoffs not wanting a call to effect the game. These refs we're even moreso because the umpire had already been inferred to have shown bias against one of the teams. The NFL should have swapped crews when the petition and noise came out about the Rams being 0-8 when the umpire called their games. Doing so is a sign of good fate and helps alleviate any chance at bias one way or another, intentional or subconscious.

None of that matters. None of that makes the way the season ended suck less. None of it makes up for what was conceivably the Saints best shot in this window. None of it makes it any easier to get over. It sucks, Saints fans have a right to be pissed at what occurred and at the lack of leadership in the league office. The NFL deserves flack for how it went down, and the optics of the teams they wanted (and needed due to investments in the new stadium).

All that said I'm ready for the revenge tour. Ready to watch this defense continue to mature, and to see how this team responds. Who Dat and F**k Goodell

Let us not forgot the no call on a previous 3rd and 7 which killed a drive. Ginn, Jr. was mugged.

Multiple people who were at the game and are Saints fans have stated on this board that McVay was signaling timeout with as much as :05 left on the play clock.
