Bum Phillips was a regular at Bozos seafood in Metairie back in the day. The owner had a hat hook on the wall near Bums regular table.
A week or so after the San Francisco incident a good friend of my dad's grabbed Bums hat off the rack and ran out the door.
Whole restaurant, including Bum, got a kick out of it when he returned.
