The ticket prices are extremely low when matched up to all other markets. What would be damaging to the teams future in New Orleans is if a new stadium was built, tickets would be sky high. Most if not all new stadiums built require you to by Personal Seat licenses (PSL's). Im not sure but I thought I heard that in Dallas, the PSL's ranged from low $1000's to as much as $50,000. There is no way that would be feasible in present time New Orleans. But over the next few years, there will definitely be a hike in prices. That waiting list will dwindle significantly. Hopefully the Terrace will stay cheap though (thats where my family has had season tickets for 30+ years). I agree that it will take much more regional support to keep this team here.

That's $250 a year for each seat (assuming 10 games)- I'd say that's a pretty big increase.

we have 6 tickets so it's costing us $150 more a game this year.
you also had some of the more expensive seats to being with
point is, they threw the big increas on the big tickets anyway...not the cheap ones

The ticket prices are more than fair for the Saints. I think the city will support the team as long as prices don't get out of control.

which is why i think it would have to be outside NO...NO cannot afford them

yeah, well their stadium is just retarded

i think that is gonna be the key...the reaction to terrace price hikes

i don't think this city could support them if they were 16th in the nfl in ticket prices, and i don't think average would be out of control at all

Do they really need to increase these (terrace)tickets though?

either significant increase of terrace or ANOTHER significant increase on plaza and loge seats
at some point you have to do something to make up for lack of corporate money coming in and ranking 5th worst in the nfl doesn't quite cut it

How do they rank as far as revenues/profitablity?

Not bad considering. It will be interesting down the road as ticket prices increase if the demand stays high.

Do you think the Hornets have a chance to survive in New Orleans? Sports fans in the area are getting spread pretty thin with the two franchises. I would love to see them stay but I always thought that the lack of corporations in the area would kill the hornets future in New Orleans before the Saints.

I think the Saints are safe. There are many loyal Saints fans that will continue to support the team no matter what. I don't personally think the Hornets can make it here long term.

IF they were going to get a new one, i just think building outside the city is a better option considering the dire financial problems this city is facing
So with the "dire financial problems" of New Orleans, you think we should take out the business it receives from 10+ home games, the Sugar Bowl, the BCSNC every 4 years, and the occasional SB? And that's assuming that we would even continue to get the latter 3 after moving to the stadium 40 or so minutes away from anything remotely interesting. And you're making a HUGE assumption that the interest/money gained moving the Saints' playing field closer to Baton Rouge (a city full of people that don't give a shite about the Saints and didn't give a shite when the Saints or Hornets were actually playing there) would be greater than the interest lost from people in the city and the suburbs.
And some of you keep going on about regional support. The Saints have been here for ~30 years. I know NOLA got fricked by Katrina, but support from the area appears to be as strong as ever. So why the hell do they need more regional support than they have now? There's still at least two teams more likely to move now than the Saints, and there's really only three really attractive markets out there. One of them is fighting to keep the NFL out and the other is being avoided by all major sports for fear of gambling.

hey guys, I see we still at it with the stadium talk, I tell you what you move a stadium outside NO, you think the city is dried up and dead now, you might as well drop it off into the gulf.

I think LaPlace is a good idea. My family lives in BR and gave up our tickets because the drive to and from downtown NO every weekend was too much.
LaPlace would be much more accessible to BR and the growing population in Livingston Parish. Also, the biggest benefit would be that there would be enough room to do some tailgating. I always hated the fact that tailgating is non-existant around the Superdome. Going to tourist trap bars just doesn't compare to LSU style tailgating.
The Saints are doing great now, but I fear a bad season or two and a significant increase in ticket costs would cause the attendance to suffer just like it did for many years before Katrina. I have my doubts that NO will be able to sustain an NFL team on its own much longer, with its smaller population and low median income.
