The start of the toughest part of the season.

Sometimes it’s not about who you play, but when you play them. The eagles and that shitty team in Atlanta are fighting for their playoff lives. Coupled with the fact that we will play 2 games in 5 days, and this part of the schedule will decide if we get home field.
Another oddity in the schedule is we turn around and play 7 days later in Dallas on Thursday, making it 3 games in 12 days, and all teams fighting for survival. What kind of impact will it have on this team forgoing the “mini-bye” until a week later?
If the schedulers had only scheduled our bye right before the first TNF game. Don’t ever let the NFL fool you into thinking they care about player safety.

We literally just finished the “toughest” part of the schedule. These other teams have to play Thursday night also and one of ours is at home and the other is just in Dallas. Teams having their backs against the wall is irrelevant and means absolutely nothing. You are either ready to play or not, Saints haven’t showed they will take teams lightly yet. The first 2 games of the season seemed to be more of our secondary didn’t know what the hell to do than taking someone lightly. And if they did take Browns and Bucs lightly, apparently they’ve learned from it. I don’t care if Falcons and Eagles are “fighting for their playoff lives” it doesn’t mean jack shite to the Saints.

At least we’re home the next two games.

I agree. They are going to see these teams best performances. Also defensive players and coaches are eager to stop the Saints offense by trying different things. Tough stretch for sure.

We had a thread a month ago about the next 5 game gauntlet and what the record would be. I said 3-2 and luckily was wrong.

I think what you meant to say was that our next few opponents are about to have the toughest game of their seasons.

There isn’t a game on the schedule that the saints can’t win and shouldn’t be favorites. I’m just concerned about so many games in such a short amount of time. We get through these next 3 unscathed and we aren’t losing another game until after the draft...

Oh god lets not start this discussion again.
Anyway, one really weird thing about our schedule is that 2 of our last 7 games are at noon. Usually theres a lot of variance with times for the west coast teams, but i think its pretty rare for others. Im not sure if any other team has such a varied kickoff time schedule as us for the rest of the reason
I mean shite, 5/7 for the falcons and 6/7 for the panthers are at noon local.

Atl also has the same short week and is the road team. Thursday night games heavily favor the home team on short weeks (I think someone said the home teams are 9-2 this year, with the loses being the Cards and some other awful team).
We had a whole week between our last game and the Eagles game. We have a whole week between the Atl game and the Dal game.
Let's not make this out to be harder than it is. We're the home team on a short week once in this stretch. That favors us.

Good. That means we'll get to see some looks we haven't seen yet. Makes us that much more ready for the playoffs.

And the Saints are fighting for the #1 seed in the playoffs. This can go both ways. Saints don't give a shite how desperate they are.

And we don't have to leave New Orleans for either game. Well be fine.

While I agree. Saints know they have the opportunity to put the dagger in 3 playoff hopefuls chances.
They can hand philly and likely Atlanta's 6th loss. Then put the final dagger and 8th loss for Dallas.

100% agreee.
Making my first post in a long time because of how dumb this thought process is.
It’s one short week- just like everyone else in the league experiences during the year.
What really sucks is the week after the 3 game stretch in 15 days- they have another stretch of 2 games in 8 days.

I agree. The hardest part of the schedule is over.
The next two are games we should win. The ones after that are another tough stretch

The fact we came out of our toughest stretch undefeated is amazing. We thought for sure we’d drop at least 2. But our closest game was against Baltimore and they’ve gotten better each week after the bye.
