The ONE Source to follow on Twitter for Watson updates

The one to follow and who most believe is most likely closest to the situation is Aaron Wilson. He used to work for the Houston Chronicle, now for PFN, so he’s obviously got a plug. And he was the first one to talk about Watson narrowing things down to the Panthers and Saints…then the Browns and then the Falcons. He clearly has a source VERY close to Watson otherwise he wouldn’t be scooping the normal scoopers like Schefter, Rap, Fowler, others.
The biggest takeaway for Wilson being the guy is basically Underhill’s endorsement. Underhill had him on his podcast, a podcast where they have very few guests, and which Underhill said on the podcast he would be refreshing Wilson’s tweets constantly. Underhill doesn’t say things like that lightly so the guy is clearly very close to this. He was also the one to break that Watson was going to take the weekend. No one else reported that, not even some of these Falcon blue checkmarks who said it was a done deal and would be announced “imminently”
I’m not trying to give anyone hope. Watson might pick Atlanta. They might even be his favorite. But it hasn’t been reported, even when it’s been noted before the Saints were his favorites. No such update has been known about who the favorite is. We can speculate based on him taking the weekend. But if Wilson and Underhill both say he’s not made a decision yet, we should believe them. He could be leaning ATL but it’s clearly not something he’s let his camp know about. So just relax and try not to invest too much into this prima Donna

Falcons Fans are getting nervous...
Saw this tweet.

They're starting to get nervous after bragging to the Saints all day. It would be hilarious if Watson ends up in NOLA.

It's almost like there is no difference between Saints fans and Falcons fans.
How will I feel superior to unknown humans if we are the same?
Spoiler alert:
There is absolutely no difference.

I’ve seen numerous Saints fans here say the same thing. The fact is none of us know what’s in his head right now, and the only thing to do is wait until he makes his decision.

Yep, solid logic either way, too. Which is why this is hard to call.
Watson is from a suburb of Atlanta (Gainesville, GA) and his mom lives there. He loves his mom and really does seem to like the idea of living and playing near mom. So taking this long seems like it would not favor them since the built in is he would be a hometown hero and living/playing near home.
But NOLA seems like a team poised to make a deep run with the right QB and has a solid Oline even if there are a few weaknesses there. Watson wants to win and doesn't want to run for his life so it seems like taking this long means the Saints need to worry.

The delay has to do with one thing
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I don't think he cares either way at this point, just wants the most money he can get.

This is truly rare when it comes to NFL FA.
In CFB recruiting, location/proximity to family/friends & parental pressure are some of the biggest factors where a kid chooses to play, and why the overwhelming majority of prospects remain in-state.
However, in NFL FA, there are countless instances where a player is finally free to return to his home state/NFL team near family/friends, and yet, money wins out 98% of the time and they go elsewhere. And of the minority that do return to their hometown NFL team, half the time it's just coincidental bc the money/job-opening actually brought them there. For Watson, there is technically not even job opening for him in Atlanta. This is truly rare.

There is absolutely no difference.
Also nice to read a sane and level-headed OP. Those have been few and far between the last 3 days.

Watson is playing the Saints. He wants to be in Atlanta and the only reason his decision is delayed is to give Atlanta time to make it all work.
Just think about this logically, if a team is ready to make a deal today and they are the better option from an organization, stability, winning, Players to complement and support you .... then why would you delay???
You delay because you want to go somewhere else if they can make it happen. All this extra time is for Atlanta benefit at the saints detriment. Watson is a lifelong Falcon fan and to play for his home team with all his family and friend is his desire.
Loomis needs to take back control by giving a deadline of about 1 hr to make a deal or the deal is off.
